The Los Angeles Lakers are on the brink of wiping out whatever suspense may be left in the NBA Finals heading into Game 2 Friday inside the NBA Bubble at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The Lakers began their final push toward a 17th franchise championship with much-worse-than-it-looked 116-98 demolition of the Heat in Game 1.
The Heat enter what is shaping up as must-win game at medium strength. Star small forward/shooting guard Jimmy Butler is hobbling on a bad ankle. He will certainly play. Goran Dragic (torn plantar fascia in left foot) and Bam Adebayo (neck strain), meanwhile, are doubtful after early exits in Game 1. Miami was thoroughly mauled inside and out during the series opener. The Lakers hit 15 of 38 attempts from beyond the arc and governed the boards with a 53-36 edge in rebounding.
NBA Finals Game 2 Betting Odds

The over/under for total points for Game 2 of the NBA Finals is floating between 215-217. It is 216.5 at FanDuel and BetMGM. Bettors can get complete up-to-the-minute Lakers-Heat Game 2 NBA Finals odds here.

How Ugly Can It Get In Game 2?
Bron and the Brow were overwhelming Wednesday. Anthony Davis and LeBron James tallied 59 points and hit 20 of 38 shot attempts. Davis had 34 points, nine boards and three blocks in the victory. The potential absence of Adebayo may free up Davis even more in Game 2. James was at his playoff apex and barely missed out on a triple double with 25 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists.
Butler, as is always the case, remains confident and unbowed despite his team’s seemingly dire situation.
"They probably think they're going to do it to us three more times in a row," Butler said to the media via a conference call after practice Thursday. "I beg to differ."
Prop & Futures Bets For Lakers, Heat
In NBA futures markets, the Lakers are a substantial favorite to win this series and the championship. William Hill has the Lakers at +110 to sweep the series. Los Angeles swelled to at -1250 to win the series at BetMGM, while the Heat may find some diehards sitting +850 at DraftKings. The consensus favorite for number of games in series is under 6.5, which is -1445 at DraftKings. The same site has under 5.5 games at -335, over 5.5 games at +240 and over 6.5 games at +800
There is now some suspense in the race to win NBA Finals MVP honors. James has -200 odds at FanDuel. Davis has edged up to +170 after being +300 before Game 1. Butler is +2000 at the same book.
