Patrick Mahomes and the surging Kansas City Chiefs look to keep their hot run going when they host Marcus Mariota and the Washington Commanders in an NFL Monday Night Football showdown for Week 8.

The Chiefs (4-3) have won three of four, buoyed by an offense that’s scored 37, 28, 30, and 31 points the last four weeks. The Commanders (3-4), meanwhile, have dropped two in a row and won’t have starting QB Jayden Daniels for the third time this season. Mariota is 1-1 as Washington’s starter.

1. 1. Over 47.5 Points: Each team has a path to 28-plus points. Mariota and the Commanders may not pull off the upset, but it has the pass game to keep up and perhaps get a late score that serves as a back door for the Over.

2. Marcus Mariota, Over 23.5 Rush Yards: Mariota is an opportunistic scrambler. In three games of action, he has only 10 rushes, but for 94 yards and a TD. KC allows more QB runs than any other in the NFL, and the fourth-most yards.

3. Rashee Rice, Over 65.5 Receiving Yards: In his 2025 debut last week, the Chiefs WR had a modest 42 yards, but on seven receptions and 10 targets, with two TDs. His 6.0 yards per reception is nearly half what he averaged in his first two seasons. Rice can expand downfield more here.
