The Niners will be without QB Brock Purdy for Thursday night. But they’ve won two games without him, so putting Mac Jones under center isn’t the biggest drop in the world. That said, starting WRs Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings also won’t play. TE George Kittle and WR Brandon Aiyuk are also out.

The Rams have played three games decided by a TD or less (the exception was vs. the horrid Titans). Jones and the SF defense can keep it close enough. Back the Niners with the points.

49ers vs. Rams Over/Under

The Niners defense – without Nick Bosa for the rest of the season – ranks fifth in yards and seven in points allowed. The Rams defense ranks top 10 in both as well.

Jones has thrown for 284 and 279 yards in his two games, both wins, but team’s scored 26 and 16 points in those games. The Rams own a stout L.A. secondary. 1. 1. Mac Jones, Over 211.5 Pass Yards: One might wonder who is going to catch all the passes for Jones. But somebody will. Coach Kyle Shanahan has had no problem putting the ball in Mac’s hands. He’s averaged 281.5 ypg so far, so this is exceptionally low, especially for a team likely to be chasing in the second half.

2. Demarcus Robinson, Over 28.5 Receiving Yards: Robinson was suspended for the first three games and has just one reception for 20 yards in Week 4. He has no choice but to step up here; not every ball can go to Christian McCaffrey. Robinson should be extra-motivated against his former team.

3. Matthew Stafford, Over 1.5 TDs: The Rams QB has thrown two-plus TDs each of the last three weeks. With the 49ers' defensive backfield dealing with injuries to potentially three of its usual top 5, Stafford can attack the end zone again.
