UFC Perth Main Event Best Bet
Carlos Ulberg (-258) vs. Dominick Reyes (+210)
The main event of UFC Perth is a light heavyweight matchup between Carlos Ulberg and Dominick Reyes. Ulberg is a -258 favorite, and I favor him to win this fight by knockout.
Ulberg is 34, and he is 8-1 in the UFC. The New Zealand native entered the UFC in 2021, and he lost his UFC debut by knockout. Since then, however, it has been smooth sailing for Ulberg, who has won eight fights in a row. He is one of the top strikers in the UFC light heavyweight division, and he has been fighting an increasing level of competition every time he steps into the Octagon. It has been fun to see the improvements that Ulberg has made, and if he can impressively get past Reyes in this fight, Ulberg may very well get the next title shot at 205 lbs.
Reyes is 35, and he is 9-4 in the UFC. The American was once one of the best light heavyweights in the world, having won his first six UFC fights and arguably beating Jon Jones in a title fight in 2020. However, after losing that close fight, Reyes lost three more, and it looked like his career might be over. Reyes has rebounded since then, however, winning his last three fights by knockout as an underdog in two of those bouts. He has shown that he still has knockout power, and he is trying to make another run for the belt at this point in his career.
Ulberg is one of the hottest fighters in the UFC right now, and I won’t bet against him against Reyes, who, for as good as he’s looked lately, has been chinny in the past.
Take Ulberg to win this fight as a -258 favorite, and look for him to win this fight by knockout for a prop bet.

Other Perth UFC Best Bets
Jimmy Crute (-185) vs. Ivan Erslan (+154)
In a light heavyweight bout, Jimmy Crute faces Ivan Erslan. Crute is a -185 favorite, and I like him to win this fight in his home country.
Crute is 29, and he is 5-4-2 in the UFC. The Aussie started off his UFC career with a 4-1 record, but he then went on a five-fight winless skid, and it looked like he could be cut from the UFC. Fortunately for Crute, he rebounded in a big way in his last fight when he tapped out Marcin Prachnio in July. Crute is still young enough that he can turn things around and get back in title contention, and picking up a submission win over Prachnio showed he can still finish fights.
Erslan is 33, and he is 0-2 in the UFC. The Croatian fighter has lost decisions to Ion Cutelaba and Navajo Stirling so far during his UFC run. While he has shown toughness by going the distance in both of those fights, his striking defense and takedown defense have both been tested. At this point, Erslan looks like he is more of a gatekeeper than a contender, and on paper, he looks like he is being brought into enemy territory to lose to Crute in this spot.
Crute looked terrific in his last fight, while Erslan has still not won a fight inside the Octagon. Given Crute is younger, fighting at home, has more UFC experience, and is the more well-rounded MMA fighter, I thought he would be a bigger favorite in this spot.
Either way, I like Crute to win as a -185 favorite, and I favor him to win by submission if you are looking for props.

Oban Elliott (-122) vs. Jonathan Micallef (+102)
In welterweight action, Oban Elliott takes on Jonathan Micallef. Although he is a +102 underdog, I like Micallef to pull off a small upset in this spot.
Elliott is 27, and he is 3-1 in the UFC. The Wales native won his first three UFC fights and was looking like a potential contender at 170 lbs due to a combination of striking and grappling, but he was exposed in his last bout, a lopsided loss to UFC newcomer Seokhyeon Ko. It was a terrible loss for Elliott, and one that he may not be able to overcome. Things don’t get any easier here for Elliott, as he now goes into enemy territory to take on a top prospect in Micallef.
Micallef is 26 and is 1-0 in the UFC. The Aussie won his UFC debut with a breakthrough performance over Kevin Jousset earlier this year, a fight where he showed he is a well-rounded fighter with exceptional striking skills. We also saw him have a great ground game on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2024, where he originally earned his UFC contract. There is a lot to like about Micallef, and if he can beat Elliott, he may be put on the fast track to the top 15.
Elliott looked absolutely terrible in his last fight, while Micallef had a breakthrough performance in his UFC debut, one that he will look to build on here in his home country.
I’m taking Micallef as a +102 underdog, and I expect him to win this fight by decision on the scorecards.
