With the first two months of college football behind us, we’re getting into the nitty-gritty part of the season. But each week, fans want to know: Where Will ESPN College GameDay Go? It’s the time when almost all the matchups are among conference teams, and each week will have multiple games that will have a direct impact not just conference standings but the College Football Playoff as well.

It also means there are several enticing sites to consider for the weekly ESPN College GameDay Saturday morning show. However, for Week 9, the folks at the World Wide Wide Leader don't have a clear-cut game from which to choose this far out.

GameDay Favorite Spot To Land In Week 10

Right now, the favored spot Where Will ESPN College GameDay Go in Week 10 is the campus of SMU in Dallas. Next week, the SMU Mustangs play host to the Miami Hurricanes in an ACC clash. Miami played host to GameDay earlier this season, before they beat Florida 26-7 at Hard Rock Stadium. But the GameDay crew has yet to travel to SMU's campus. The schools spent the the first two decades of GameDay cast in the college football wilderness.

The Mustangs joined the expanded ACC last season and have found a home in the conference, winning their first 11 ACC games heading in to their Week 8 game at Wake Forest.

A win in that game would preserved their hold on first place and keep them ahead of the Hurricanes in the race for a spot in the ACC title game.

Where Else Could GameDay Land?

Looking at the show’s archives, it’s clear that GameDay has a soft spot for Athens, Georgia, with the home of the state’s flagship university hosting the fifth most episodes (41, alongside Michigan) all time, one behind Oklahoma and two behind UGA’s rival from Gainesville.  

Where Will ESPN College GameDay Go in Week 10, could include the Georgia-Florida game. The GameDay gang may visit what was long deemed the World's Largest Cocktail Party in Jacksonville. The Georgia-Ole Miss contest in Athens, Georgia, was the +120 favorite to host ESPN’s pregame show in Week 7 before it got the nod.   

Both Georgia and Florida are on the bye in Week 9.

The Virginia at California ACC game would put the GameDay crew on the Bears' campus in Berkeley. A stunning spot for a 6 a.m. local time start. The Virginia Cavaliers joined SMU and Georgia Tech in first place heading into Week 8. The Cavaliers earned the No. 16 ranking in the AP poll after a 6-1 start and consecutive ACC wins over Stanford, FSU and Louisville.

Another potential host is North Texas, with the Mean Green sitting at 6-1 heading into its game against Charlotte in Week 8. The Mean Green American member could host GameDay for the first time come Week 9, facing North Texas.

Oklahoma visits Tennessee in the SEC's other other marquee matchup in Week 9. It would be the 43rd appearance by the Sooners. The GameDay crew visited Knoxville on September 13. They failed to bring luck to the hosts as Georgia caught Tennessee three different times en route to a 44-41 OT victory.
