For the fourth year in a row, the Buffalo Bills won at least 11 games and took the AFC East championship. For but the third straight season, a loss in the AFC Divisional Round ended a season well before they’d hoped.

Usually, for the Bills, it’s about reloading and going for it against Josh Allen under center. The offense and defense each ranked in the top 10 in points and yards categories. This year might be a little different.

Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has used his resources of NFL contacts developed over 20 years covering the league and the NFL Draft to create his hypothetical NFL futures odds on who gets selected 28th by the Buffalo Bills in the 2024 NFL Draft.

2024 Buffalo Bills NFL Draft Prospects

The Bills were mired in salary cap issues this off-season. It required jettisoning several key players from a year ago, including WRs Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, center Mitch Morse, and defensive backs Jordan Poyer and Tre’Davious White. None of those subtractions were met with equal additions, so the draft will be needed to fill up some big shoes.

At No. 28 in the first round, it’s the “best available” time for Buffalo, but receivers and the defensive backfield need improvement before Week 1.

Adonai Mitchell of Texas would be an ideal, and realistic, get. Some experts believe Mitchell is the No. 4 WR in the draft, but could get picked fifth or sixth at the position. If he drops all the way to the back end of Round 1, the Bills should snap up, the 6-2, 205-pound WR who ran a 4.35 40 at the combine.

Brian Thomas Jr. of LSU is in the same slot but is expected to go sooner. Ladd McConkey of Georgia, too, is in the mix. Mitchell and Thomas, both 6-2 and over 200 pounds, may get the nod over the smaller McConkey for a Bills team that could use a larger target.

Oregon’s Jackson Powers-Johnson is a top-two center in the draft, and can also play guard. Both are spots that could use an upgrade from last year, especially the center with Morse now in Jacksonville.

If D-back is the preference, Tyler Nubin of Minnesota is the best safety in the class and stands a decent chance of being available at No. 28. Cornerbacks such as Nate Wiggins of Clemson, Kool-Aid McKinstry of Alabama, and Ennis Rakestraw Jr. of Missouri could all be on the board, or none could be.
