The New York Jets’ hopes in 2023 went up in flames on the opening drive of the season when QB Aaron Rodgers blew his Achilles. Despite constant letdowns at QB, the Jets still finished 7-10 thanks to a defense that allowed the third-fewest yards in the NFL.

Now Rodgers is back, the defense is mostly intact, and the Jets hope that 2024 becomes what 2023 was supposed to be.

Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has used his resources of NFL contacts developed over 20 years covering the league and the NFL Draft to create his hypothetical NFL futures odds on who gets selected 10th by the New York Jets in the 2024 NFL Draft.

2024 New York Jets NFL Draft Prospects

Rodgers should be back, and the Jets added WR Mike Williams from the Chargers to give him another top-level target to go with Garrett Wilson. The run game is ready to do its part with Breese Hall (4.5 ypc).

Having a top-level offensive line is critical to keeping Rodgers upright. Last year’s Jets O-line ranked 31st out of 32 teams, as injuries decimated the lineup and the depth didn’t come through. The addition of OT Tyron Smith from Dallas was a huge get, though his injury concerns mean the position is still worth considering in Round 1.

Olumuyiwa Fashanu of Penn State and Taliese Fuaga of Oregon State are probably the top two tackled in the draft. Fuaga offers the flexibility to move to guard, a position some analysts believe he’ll be suited best for at the pro level. Protecting Rodgers is the top priority, and the Jets are in a better spot to do so with either of those standouts.

The other option here is another top-tier pass-catcher to make the offense a true force. Wilson and Williams offer a solid 1-2 combo at wideout, but there’s room for a third. Rome Odunze, the 6-3, 215-pound WR from Washington, would offer another big target.

The other option is perhaps even more intriguing. Tight end Brock Bowers was unstoppable at Georgia and gave an additional dimension to Robert Saleh and his offense. Current TE Tyler Conklin had a respectable 621 yards, but zero TDs. Bowers was a two-time national TE of the year. Nobody wants the Jets to draft Bowers.
