The Week 15 Monday Night Football matchup features two NFC South teams going in opposite directions. The Saints (11-2) are currently the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and with three more wins, they can clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

If that is indeed the case, it will be tough for any team in the NFC to come into their house and beat them in a prime-time game. It is very likely that road to the Super Bowl in the NFC will go through New Orleans.

The Saints are led by quarterback Drew Brees, who is currently the odds-on favorite to win MVP this season at 888sport. Brees is completing an absurd 75.7 percent of his passes at 8.3 yards per attempt. He now has a career-high passer rating of 120.8 as he has scored 35 touchdowns in 13 games. A solid performance on Monday Night Football could clinch his first ever NFL MVP award.

Standing in the Saints’ way is the Carolina Panthers (6-7) who have now lost five straight games. At one point in the season, it seemed like a lock that the Panthers would claim a wild-card spot.

Here’s how fans of NFL betting should attack this game.

Monday Night Football Week 15 Best Bets

Saints (-6) Over Panthers

The Saints enter Week 15 as a six-point favorite on the road in Carolina. New Orleans has been dominant as a road favorite this season, going 4-1 against the spread with their only loss coming against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football.

On the flip side, Carolina is 2-2 as an underdog against the spread this season. But the Panthers have had success recently against the Saints at home. The Panthers have won four out of the last six meetings in Carolina as they have held the Saints to an average of just 24 points per game.

That’s pretty respectable considering the Saints’ offensive firepower over the last several seasons.

While Drew Brees and the Saints have historically struggled on the road in outdoor stadiums, the Panthers just aren’t playing good football right now. Over their last five games, they are averaging only 20.8 points per game.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (1) signals at the line of scrimmage during the first quarter against the Cleveland Browns
Quarterback Cam Newton doesn't look healthy, and his play has completely fallen off. Over the last five weeks, Newton has thrown eight interceptions compared to just four in the first eight games of the season. He looks like a player that needs some time off to recover from his lingering shoulder issue.

For Carolina to win this game, running back, Christian McCaffrey is going to need to continue to be a star. In his last six games, McCaffrey has tallied 904 total yards on 129 touches. He's scored 10 touchdowns in that period and has been the only reason the Panthers have been competitive as of late.

For those fans of Monday Night Football betting who back the Panthers, they are going to need a superhero-like performance from McCaffrey.

As for the Saints are starting to get healthier as left tackle Terron Armstead practiced this week and is expected to play for the first time since Week 10. That should provide a big boost to the Saints’ passing attack as well as to Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram on the ground.

I will take the Saints to cover in Carolina in Week 15.

Over/Under (52)

The over/under betting line for this matchup is set at 52, tied for the highest of the week. In the team's last five meetings, three of the five games have hit the over.

However, if you only include the games in Carolina, that number drops significantly. In the team's last five meetings in Carolina, the highest point total has been just 49. These games tend to be lower scoring, and this is by far the best defense the Saints have had in years.

Bet on the under in this matchup, eyeing a 27-20 type of game from the Saints.
