Vikings vs. Bears Betting Odds, Predictions & Best Bets For Monday Night Football
NFC North teams full of optimism face off to open the 2025 NFL season on Monday Night Football, as Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears host J.J. McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings went 14-3 last season, but hand the offense to McCarthy, who has yet to throw an NFL regular-season pass. The Bears went 5-12 last year but revamped a porous offensive line and want more in the second year for Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The latest Vikings vs. Bears NFL odds has Minnesota at -1.5 points. The Over/Under for total points is at 44 points.

Vikings vs. Bears Betting Predictions
Vikings vs. Bears Point Spread
J.J. McCarthy inherits a team that went 14-3 last season with Sam Darnold. He has weapons all around him. Is the moment going to be too big? TBD, but his last official game, he won a national title at Michigan.
The Bears improved their O-line, but Caleb Williams is coming off a 68-sack season, and the Vikings bring pressure. This could turn into a coach'e's chess match. Ben Johnson is considered an offensive guru, but it’s his first game as head coach. Kevin O’Connell got Darnold to a 14-win season. Back Minnesota to cover with the small number.

Vikings vs. Bears Over/Under
A lot of people in the Vikings building are very bullish on McCarthy. And who’s to say he won’t be great? But it’s Game 1, in his home state, on Monday Night Football. Expect a slightly conservative approach, one that involves the ground game, especially vs. a Bears defense that ranked 27th in rush defense.
As for the Bears, Williams and Co. averaged 18.2 ppg last season, ahead of only the Browns, Giants and Patriots. Minnesota brings pressure and Williams didn’t handle pretty very well in 2024. The total is high enough to lean Under for MNF as a secondary play.

Vikings
It may take a last-second field goal, but the Vikings are, top-to-bottom, the better team here. McCarthy is the X-factor, but with the weapons around him and his penchant for big moments (winning national titles in both college and high school), the moment shouldn’t be too big. I still have yet to see what I need to see from Williams to back it.
NFL Odds: Vikings ML (-122) at Draftkings
Caleb Williams
Williams went over this total in seven out of 17 games (41.2%), and here faces a tough secondary with a front seven that can add pressure. Williams went for 340 and 191 in two games vs. Minnesota, both defeats. In Chicago’s five wins, Caleb averaged 185 ypg. Airing it out isn’t in Chicago’s best interests.
NFL Odds: Under 222.5 Pass Yards -113 at BetMGM
Justin Jefferson
Over 6.5 Receptions (-115): McCarthy played in just one preseason game and Jefferson didn’t suit up for it. But McCarthy was all-in on the No. 1 target at the time, Jordan Addison. Over half of his preseason attempts and 75% of his completions were to Addison. Look for McCarthy to lean on his premier target.
