Super Bowl betting is upon us with the big game right around the corner, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to begin thinking about Super Bowl 55, right?

William Hill and PointsBet have posted its opening lines for Super Bowl 55. To little surprise, three teams head the list — the Chiefs and 49ers, as well as the Baltimore Ravens, who went 14-2 this season — at +700 to win it all next season. They are the odds-on favorites for a reason, but the value isn’t spectacular on the frontrunners. You can check out NFL Futures odds.

Super Bowl 55 Value Bets

Dallas Cowboys +2000

With Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield, new coach Mike McCarthy should have no trouble turning the Cowboys around.

The Cowboys were No. 1 in the NFL in yards gained and No. 9 in yards allowed, yet finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs.

Give Jerry Jones flack for being both owner and GM, but the pieces were in place this past season for a Super Bowl run. If Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper return, as expected, the Cowboys will again be formidable.

Most importantly, Jason Garrett is out as Cowboys head coach, replaced by Mike McCarthy, who led the Packers to a Super Bowl victory and has had considerably more success in the playoffs (and regular season, for that matter). Replacing the coaching staff but retaining the talent makes Dallas an immediate contender.

Los Angeles Rams +2500

It seems like a lifetime ago in terms of NFL betting, but the Rams were in Super Bowl 53. Then their top-tier offense blew a flat and managed just three points against the Patriots. This past season was a major disappointment, going 9-7 and missing the postseason thanks to crushing losses to the Cowboys and 49ers down the stretch.

They don’t have many holes to fill. The top off-season priorities are keeping CBs Jalen Ramsey and Troy Hill, and making a decision at RB. These are nice odds to have a team that had a subpar season by their own lofty standards, isn’t rebuilding and is one year removed from a Super Bowl.

Buffalo Bills +3000

The Bills have their QB of the future in Josh Allen and their RB of the future in Devin Singletary. They also don’t lose much from a defense that ranked second behind the Patriots in points allowed.

Next year’s schedule will be considerably tougher, but this year was a rebuilding season and the Bills went 10-6 and made the playoffs.

Buffalo enters the offseason with a ton of cap space. Add skill at WR and shore up some offensive line issues, and Buffalo is a contender again.

Los Angeles Chargers +3000

Super Bowl 55 Early Odds & 5 Best Value Bets to Consider 2
Despite some issues on offense, the defense of the Chargers, led by Joey Bosa, was sixth in the NFL in total defense.

Think the Cowboys were a huge disappointment? Consider this: The Chargers ranked 10th in total offense and sixth in total defense, but finished 5-11.

QB Philip Rivers, a likely future Hall of Famer, was fairly dismal, RB Melvin Gordon was a distraction then wasn’t ready when he did end his holdout and injuries hampered the defense’s potential.

This team remains on the young side, returns its core and has a lot of cap space. Quarterback is the big off-season question. But that’s where the Chargers’ big value comes from.

What if it’s Tom Brady? If Brady leaves New England in free agency, the Chargers are considered a possible destination. If that happens, the Chargers’ odds plummet and they’re immediate title contenders. If you have a ticket in your pocket for a Brady-led Chargers team at +3000, that’s a value.

Carolina Panthers +6000

Super Bowl 55 Early Odds & 5 Best Value Bets to Consider 3
If Cam Newton returns to the Carolina Panthers, and he’s healthy, they could turn things around quickly.

Cam Newton played just two games and was ultimately shut down with various ailments. This team was 5-3 before the wheels came off, losing their final eight as they found no consistency at QB and the defense gave up.

But now there’s a new coaching staff, Newton returns in a contract season with a renewed energy and game plan around him and Christian McCaffrey is still in the backfield.

Carolina needs to shore up its offensive line, which allowed a league-high 58 sacks, and find a replacement for LB Luke Kuechly. Those things happen, and Carolina is a bargain at this price.
