The two best teams in the NFL all season face off in Super Bowl 57, as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs take on Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. The 2022-23 NFL betting season concludes on Sunday, Feb. 12 at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.

The Chiefs have won 12 of their last 13 games led by Mahomes, the strong favorite on Kansas betting apps to win the NFL Most Valuable Player Award. The Eagles are 15-1 with Hurts under center and rank No. 2 in the NFL in total offense and No. 3 in total defense.

It’s the third Super Bowl appearance in four seasons for KC, while it’s the first for Philly since hoisting the Lombardi Trophy five years ago.

With online sportsbooks as numerous and diverse as ever, Super Bowl betting will offer more than 1,000 ways to wager on the big game. Here is your ultimate Super Bowl 57 Betting Guide to help you decide which is the best direction to hit your Super Bowl betting goals.

Super Bowl 57 Eagles-Chiefs Betting Odds

As soon as the AFC Championship Game ended on Sunday night, most sports betting apps posted the Chiefs as two-point Super Bowl betting favorites over the Eagles. By Monday morning, Philadelphia was the favorite. The line had adjusted a whopping four points, to Eagles -2.

The NFL lines have since settled to Philly -1.5. As of now, 63% of tickets are coming in on the Eagles to cover the spread, according to Bookies.com.

The Over/Under for total points is at 49.5 at nearly all sportsbooks, the same as last year’s total between the Rams and Bengals. Kansas City and Philadelphia each averaged 28.7 ppg on the season, the highest marks in the NFL. This is the sixth-straight O/U for a Super Bowl coming in at 49 points or higher.

When it comes to the moneyline, Philadelphia is -125 while Kansas City is +105 on Kansas betting sites and elsewhere. Those interested in the straight-up-win approach can find varied odds across the online sportsbooks. Shopping for the best lines can pay off.

How to Bet on Super Bowl 57 Eagles-Chiefs

One of the best parts of the Super Bowl is all of the ways to bet on the game. It's the most wagered on sporting event of the year and there are endless ways to place bets. Here are a few of the most common Super Bowl bets and how to make them:

Super Bowl 57 Eagles-Chiefs Moneyline

This is the way to wager on a team winning the game outright, without any point spread. Margin of victory does not come into play with moneyline betting. Instead of the point spread changing to generate equal odds on each side, the odds are different for the two teams based on which team is expected to win the game.

According to Bookies.com, the Eagles are currently -125 favorites to win, which means you would need to wager $125 to win $100 in profit. The Chiefs are at +110 underdogs; a $100 wager wins $110 in profit. This is the most basic Super Bowl bet. Moneyline bets have been nearly even in terms of tickets, with the favored Eagles getting 51% of the handle, compared to the Chiefs’ 49% share.

Super Bowl 57 Eagles-Chiefs Over/Under Bet

So far, Super Bowl betting is leaning strongly on the Over. According to Bookies.com, 62% of all wagers are on the total going Over this mark. No teams scored more points than the Chiefs and the Eagles, combining for 57.4 ppg. That said, the defenses combined to allow just 40.3 ppg. In the last three games, the teams have combined to allow just 27.7 ppg.

Super Bowl 57 Eagles-Chiefs Spread Bet

This is a bet in which players are asked to wager on a team using a point spread, and it is the most popular bet of all NFL bet types. In the latest Super Bowl 57 odds, the Eagles are 1.5-point favorites. That means they would need to win by at least two points to cover. The .5 is called the hook, which often times is crucial in deciding a winning and losing wager.

The Chiefs, at +1.5 on the spread, means KC could lose the game but win on the spread with a one-point defeat. Only one Super Bowl ever has been decided by a single point.

The Chiefs have been an underdog just twice all season. In Week 4, KC (+2) beat Tom Brady’s Buccaneers 41-31, then two weeks later lost at home to Josh Allen and the Bills 24-20 (at +2.5).

The Eagles have been favored in all but one victory, but only twice have they been laying a field goal or less. Those two games went well. They hammered the Vikings 24-7 (at -2.5) and rolled the 49ers 31-7 (at -3) for the NFC Championship.

This is a bet on the total number of points scored in the game. The current Over/Under for the big game is set at 49.5. The last six Super Bowls have had O/U lines of at least 49. The last four have gone Under the total, averaging 37.5 ppg.

Super Bowl Player Props

Prop bets are when you wager on a specific outcome in a game that is not directly tied to the final outcome. For example, you can wager on the number of passing yards by Jalen Hurts or who will score the first touchdown of the game (right now the favorite is Chiefs TE Travis Kelce, at +650).

Super Bowl prop bets range from most rushing yards to most sacks and everything in-between that can be measured on the field. One of the most popular props is Anytime Touchdown betting – if you bet on a player to score, and they do, you win. Kelce is at -125 to score at any point in the game at BetMGM. Hurts (-110) and Eagles RB Miles Sanders (-110) are also favored to hit paydirt.

Some sites will even let you place an NFL futures bet ahead of the Super Bowl, wagering on who will win the game next year (in 2024). It's worth noting that the odds for prop bets can differ from site to site, so be sure to check out different sportsbooks for the best odds.

Exotic Super Bowl prop bets

The Super Bowl will have countless exotic prop bets available, such as the length of the National Anthem, the color of Gatorade dumped on the winning coach, the coin toss and so much more. Be sure to check out your favorite sportsbooks to see what Super Bowl prop bets they have available.
