The Colts were once a primetime staple on the NFL betting schedule. But when Peyton Manning moved on to Denver, the franchise began celebrating with “AFC Semifinalist” banners and the team basically stunk.

This season, the Colts rode the hype wagon in the offseason with the acquisition of Matt Ryan to complement Frank Reich’s offense. That move helped the Colts earn a spot Monday night in Week 12 against the Steelers.

This marks the first time the Colts (4-6-1, 5-6) have played host to a Monday night game in seven years.

But neither the Colts nor Steelers have been worthy of primetime status in 2022. The Colts benched Ryan and fired Reich. They hired Jeff Saturday, he of no coaching experience above the high school level. Saturday has split his first two games as head coach but is unbeaten against the spread.

Mike Tomlin has struggled to adjust to life without Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers are 3-7 outright but 4-5-1 ATS.

Pittsburgh hasn’t beaten Indy since 2008. The Steelers have used two starting QBs this season, bouncing between rookie Kenny Pickett and veteran journeyman Mitch Trubisky. Pickett owns the job until further notice or injury.

The Colts are 2.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook with a -140 moneyline. The Steelers are +120 and the total is 39.5 points. So expect touchdowns to be rare commodities.

Najee Harris Anytime TD

Odds: +115 at DraftKings

Najee Harris First Overall TD Scorer

Odds: +650 at DraftKings

We’ll cover ourselves on the first-TD play by taking what is better than an even-money bet on Najee Harris scoring. His total is 62.5 yards. Expect him to surpass double-digit numbers in carries with Jaylen Warren not playing. Harris has gone over 90 yards in back-to-back games.

The Colts have played well against the rush lately, but Harris can move in open space. The Steelers will have to establish the run and use Harris to keep Ryan off the field. Look for Harris to score in order for the Steelers to have a chance to win, and do so early.

Parris Campbell Indianapolis 1st TD Scorer

Odds: +850 at DraftKings

Parris Campbell Anytime TD Scorer

Odds: +240 at BetMGM

The Steelers will be loaded up to stop – or try to slow – Jonathan Taylor. Especially in the Red Zone. Ryan knows how to read defenses and will likely surprise in the Red Zone if his lead WRs can get open in space.

Especially if he’s lined up on the opposite side of the field as T.J. Watt. Parris Campbell had 5 catches on 6 targets for 67 yards against Philly in Week 11. This is a terrific price on a reasonable option. Campbell has 3 TD catches this season and will take it to 4 Monday night.

Michael Pittman Anytime TD

Odds: +160 at BetMGM

Ryan could have a solid game against Pittsburgh’s secondary. While his skills might have atrophied a bit this season (he was benched by Jim Irsay), his veteran presence in a big game at home could give the Colts offense an edge. And that means both Michel Pittman and Campbell could find themselves on the receiving end of TD passes.
