Colorado Avalanche Odds, Predictions & 2021-22 Betting Tips

Adrian Dater | 7 mins

The Colorado Avalanche have lost in the second round of the playoffs the last three NHL seasons. Yet, here the Avs are, the favorites at most betting sitesfor the Stanley Cup in 2022. Is this a fool’s errand, betting on the Avs? Or, could this be the year they finally pay off? Let’s take a closer look at the team from an NHL betting perspective.
Avalanche Stanley Cup Odds
The Odds: +475 at BetMGM ➜
The Avs were the darlings of the sportsbooks last spring, projected to win the Cup by the second round of the playoffs against Vegas - especially after taking a 2-0 series lead. Four straight losses later, it was all over.
Colorado should have another very strong team, similar to the one that won the President’s Trophy for best regular-season record. But there are still some question marks before wagering on their Stanley Cup odds, starting with: Why has this young, talented group come up short three straights years now in the second round? Is it mental? Or, are they just not quite good enough? If you are comfortable with the answers, grab them at BetMgM sportsbook.

Avalanche Western Conference Odds
The Odds: +200 at FanDuel ➜
It makes sense that the Avalanche is the conference title favorite in NHL futures markets, including at Colorado sports betting sites. But it won’t be easy winning the West.
Vegas remains a team that seems to have a psychological advantage still on them, and you can argue that a team such as Dallas might still as well. Colorado’s last two second-round exits have come to those teams.
The Avs may have an edge winning the conference with the inclusion of lowly Arizona to their division, from the Pacific to the Central. Those figure to be easy points. Grab the bet at FanDuel.
Avalanche Division Odds
The Odds: -250 at DraftKings ➜
This might seem a little overpriced on betting apps, considering some other really good teams are in this Central Division, including St. Louis, Minnesota, Winnipeg and Dallas. But the Avs should have relatively easy pickings other nights against teams such as Chicago, Arizona and Nashville.
The Avs don’t have Vegas in their division anymore, which is a good thing for their chances. I think Dallas will give Colorado the toughest time for the division title, but I think the Avs are a pretty good bet here at DraftKings, even at those negative NHL odds.

Avalanche Player Props
Norris Trophy: Cale Makar
The Odds: +350 at DraftKings ➜
Makar, the runner-up for this award this past season, is a very strong bet here. I go along with it. Makar has elite offensive skill and is very good in the defensive end as well. I think this is his trophy to lose.
Hart Trophy: Nathan MacKinnon
The Odds: +600 at DraftKings ➜
Defending champion Connor McDavid is the favorite to win it again in Hart Trophy odds, but MacKinnon isn’t too far behind. MacKinnon needs to crack the 100-point barrier for the first time to win this trophy. He’s come very close the past few years.
Vezina Trophy: Darcy Kuemper
The Odds: +1000 at FanDuel ➜
Kuemper, acquired by Colorado from Arizona in the offseason, could have a monster season. He’s playing for a very good team for the first time in his career and is in a UFA contract year. He’s a strong bet as a darkhorse to win the award for best goalie in the regular season.
