The Most Hockey-Crazed Provinces in Canada, Ranked

We all know that Canadians love their hockey, but which part of Canada loves it the most? To determine what Canada’s most hockey-crazed province is, we took a deeper dive into three key metrics: hockey participation, rink accessibility, and NHL player production. We then adjusted it for the total population to create a fair ranking, and we think you will find the results interesting.
As part of our methodology, we analyzed all 10 Canadian provinces using equally weighted, population-adjusted metrics: hockey player registration rate, rinks per capita (per 50,000 people), and active NHL players per capita (per 50,000 people). We then used a normalized score from 0 to 100 for each category and then averaged those scores to produce a “Hockey Score.” This ensures that the results are fair and equal regardless of the province’s population.
Using our metrics, Saskatchewan is Canada’s most hockey-crazed province, based on our findings. Following Saskatchewan, we found Manitoba and Prince Edward Island to be next on the list. These results might surprise some readers, but it just goes to show you that hockey is popular all over the country. It doesn’t matter where in the country the province is, and it doesn’t matter how big the province is or how many people are in it. The fact is that hockey is deeply ingrained in the fabric of Canadian culture. This sport is popular everywhere and people enjoy using betting apps to bet on NHL odds. After all, hockey is called Canada’s game for a reason, and our study showed it’s loved all over.
Surprisingly, Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia are the bottom three provinces on our list, despite these three provinces historically producing the most NHL players overall. This shows that our methodology was fair and equal. These may be Canada’s three biggest provinces in terms of both total population and area size, but this is why we weighted all of our metrics equally for our study, so total population and area size weren’t the most important factors when it comes to our metrics. In the end, it comes down to passion and infrastructure.
