2025 Masters Betting Preview & Picks: Who Will Take Home The Green Jacket?

The Masters is not only the first major championship of the golf world, it’s the most prestigious of them all. The annual event from Augusta National Club in Georgia tees off on Thursday with all of the world’s top golfers vying for the coveted Green Jacket.
It’s a two-golfer race according to most online sportsbooks. Defending champion and two-time jacket winner Scottie Scheffler is a strong favorite at +400 Masters odds, while four-time major champion Rory McIlroy (+650) seeks his first Masters win to complete a career major Triple Crown.
Only five other golfers have odds shorter than +2500: Jon Rahm (+1300), Collin Morikawa (+1800), Bryson DeChambeau (+1800), Xander Schauffele (+1800) and Ludvig Aberg (+2000).

Top Picks For 2025 Masters Tournament
To Win: Collin Morikawa
Odds: +1800 at BetMGM
Winning The Masters usually takes a few years to really figure out the nuances of the course. Morikawa has done that after five trips to Augusta, and now is a good time to ascend to the Green Jacket. He's finished Top 10 the last three Masters, including tied for 3rd last year behind the unstoppable Scottie Scheffler and rookie Ludvig Aberg.
Scheffler is rightly a prohibitive favorite but Morikawa has finished 17th or better in all five PGA events he's played, including two runners-up. He's hot and he's due, and his odds provide far more value than Scheffler and McIlroy.
Top 10: Joaquin Niemann
Odds: +210 at DraftKings
It can be tough to figure out how LIV golfers fit into these events, considering the different competition, format, layout, etc. But one thing is for certain: Niemann is the best golfer on the rogue tour in 2025, by a wide margin. This is his sixth Masters, and that’s around the sweet spot to figure this place out. He’s finished 35th, 16th and 22nd the last three years; time to take a jump.
Top 10: Jon Rahm
Odds: +105 at DraftKings
Another LIV entrant, Rahm finished 45th at August last year. The previous six years, however, he’d finished Top 10 in five of them and won the jacket in 2023. Statistically, nobody touches Rahm in terms of being good at the things it takes to compete here. Not even Scheffler or McIlroy.
Top 20: Sepp Straka
Odds: +160 at BetMGM
Straka finished 16th last year in August and has been playing just as well in 2025. In his 11 tournaments, he’s finished Top 20 in eight of them, and only once finished outside the Top 30. He’s Top 5 on his approach and ranks third in Par 4 scoring, a key attribute in being competitive here.
Top 30: Will Zalatoris
Odds: -120 at FanDuel
Zalatoris hasn’t missed a cut in 2024. He also hasn’t really competed for any tournament win, just making cuts and earning paychecks. It’s odd because Zalatoris has NEVER finished outside the Top 10 at Augusta in three instances. He’s been down lately but near-even odds to finish at least 30th when he’s always finished at least 10th is a good flyer.
U.S. Open DFS Picks
💰 $10,000 or Higher
Collin Morikawa ($10,500) ranks fourth behind Scheffler ($12,400), McIlroy ($11,100) and Aberg ($10,800). Scheffler is priced just too high, while McIlroy and Aberg have flaws that could keep them back. So does Morikawa, but he’s red-hot and is on a trajectory to make a moment in August.
John Rahm ($10,400) is a high-priced X-factor who has won here and finished ninth or better in five straight LIV events. One or the other above should gain you points, with more money to spare than the three pricier golfers.
💰 $8,000-$9,999
Justin Thomas ($9,600) is having a career resurgence. He’s 10-for-10 on cuts with six finishes in the Top 10. He ranks No. 2 in Par-4 Scoring and is Top 10 in approach, so he has the tools to keep it going.
Joaquin Niemann ($9,300) will be the value play on my team. He’s the top golfer on the LIV Tour this year and has finished around 20th in his last three Masters trips. His play in 2025 suggests something far better this time.
💰 $7,999-Under
J.J. Spaun ($6,800) took second at The Players Championship, his second runner-up finish in 2025. While he’s been sporadic in-between, his No. 2 ranking on Strokes Gained: Approach makes this a great spot on a track known as a second-shot course. He’s competed here just once, in 2022, and took 23rd.
Phil Mickelson ($6,700) has missed the cut at The Masters three times in 32 years. That’s a mark you like to see from your bargain-basement DFS rosterees. That he turned back the clock in 2022 and took second place, and recently carded a final-round 64 at a LIV event, suggests he’s not settling on just showing up.
