BMW Championship 2020 Odds, Picks & Top Prop Bets to Back

The FedEx Cup Playoffs field is down to 70 players entering this week’s BMW Championship at Olympia Fields Country Club in Illinois. Tiger Woods is still in the golf betting mix and is teeing it up for a second consecutive week after finishing T-58 at the Northern Trust.

Other big names like Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler are done for the season. The BMW Championship will establish the top 30 players headed to next week’s Tour Championship for a shot at a $15 million bonus.

Dustin Johnson is the betting favorite in the latest BMW Championship odds, listed at +850 coming off last week’s ridiculous 11-shot win at TPC Boston. Jon Rahm is next at +1100 and Justin Thomas is third at +1200.

Bryson DeChambeau, who won the 2015 U.S. Amateur at Olympia Fields, and Webb Simpson are listed at +1400. Woods is facing relatively long odds at +3500.

Golf betting odds listed are current as of publication and subject to change.

Corey Conners (-110) over Brian Harman

Conners is coming off a respectable T-25 at the Northern Trust and is good enough with his irons to improve on that this week. Conners is 19th in Strokes Gained Approach the Green, while Harman is 121st. That’ll be key this week at a par-70 layout with quite a few long par-4s. Conners is also longer and more accurate off the tee than Harman. We think this is a great matchup for the Canadian, who needs to make a serious move and improve his 54th-place status in the FedEx Cup race. Bet on Conners at DraftKings.

Viktor Hovland (-118) over Tony Finau

Speaking of tee-to-green prowess, we’ve got two of the best here. Hovland is more accurate than Finau off the tee and hitting fairways is important at Olympia Fields. He’s also better on long-range approach shots and played well last week, while Finau missed the cut at the Northern Trust. Hovland has also posted two consecutive final-round 66s and will be better equipped to come out on top of this matchup down the stretch. Wager on Hovland at Unibet.

Justin Thomas (-118) over Bryson DeChambeau

DeChambeau will get even more attention than usual this week at the site of his 2015 U.S. Amateur victory. There’s no question he’s now the longest player on Tour and has an advantage at the bigger courses. But Olympic Fields requires precision as well and his iron play remains inconsistent. Thomas is an elite iron player and should get around this track better than most, including DeChambeau. We’re on Thomas in this matchup. Take Thomas at PointsBet.

Paul Casey (+380) top GB & Irish player

We love Casey’s game for this course with his combination of distance and precision. He’s one of four GB/Ireland natives in the field and there could be some value with this prop. Rory McIlroy is the favorite at +120, followed by Tyrrell Hatton (+290) and Matthew Fitzpatrick (+380). Casey has outperformed all three of them over the past month with McIlroy struggling and Fitzpatrick coming off back-to-back missed cuts. We think this is a go for Casey and if you agree, take the bet at FanDuel.

Russell Henley (-118) over Bubba Watson

Watson has the distance advantage here, but Henley is much stronger from the fairway and ranks third in Strokes Gained Approach the Green. Watson has been up-and-down since the restart and hadn’t done much before a T-18 last week. Henley is coming off back-to-back top-10 finishes with a T-9 at the Wyndham Championship and T-8 at last week’s Northern Trust. We like him to keep it going and dust Watson in the process. Ride Henley at DraftKings.
