The Tour Championship returns to East Lake in Atlanta from Friday through Labor Day with the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings set to duke it out for a shot at the $15 million prize.

For golf betting purposes, keep in mind that the Tour Championship implemented a staggered scoring system last year to give the top players a head start on the rest of the field. That means FedEx Cup leader Dustin Johnson will begin the week at 10-under-par, with Jon Rahm next at 8-under. Justin Thomas starts at 7-under, Webb Simpson at 6-under and Collin Morikawa at 5-under. The remaining 25 players start between 4-under and even par.

Betting odds heavily reflect the scoring system. Johnson is the favorite at +175 in the latest Tour Championship odds. Rahm is next at +275, followed by Thomas (+550), Simpson (+1100) and Morikawa (+2000).

Some books are offering additional odds on winner, top-3 and top-5 without the staggered scoring system taken into account, so bettors should make sure to look around at all their options even more carefully this week.

Xander Schauffele to win (No starting strokes, +1100)

Schauffele has a stellar track record at East Lake. He won here in 2017 and finished solo second a year ago. Schauffele is a combined 27-under par in three Tour Championship appearances. Even more impressive, he has been even-par or better in all 12 rounds. He starts the week at 3-under and seven shots off the lead, which is a big ask. But we think there’s some value here with DraftKings offering odds on lowest score of the week regardless of starting position. We’ll give Schauffele a look at +1100 and you can too at DraftKings.

Winner will birdie 72nd Hole (+100)

This is the only bet that’s guaranteed to keep you invested until the final putt drops. And we happen to like it a lot in Atlanta. The finishing hole at East Lake used to be a daunting 235-yard par-3. The club switched nines prior to the 2016 Tour Championship so No. 18 is now a par-5, playing as the second-easiest hole on the course in 2019. The winner has birdied the 72nd hole three out of four times since the switch, a trend we like to continue this week at even money. If you agree, jump on it at Unibet.

Kevin Kisner (-108) over Abraham Ancer

All over Kisner in this one. He has been rock solid lately with five consecutive top-25 finishes, including a T-3 at the Wyndham Championship and T-4 at the Northern Trust. He also has been really good at East Lake in recent years. He was T-3 at the 2017 Tour Championship and T-9 last year. Ancer finished eight shots behind Kisner last year in his East Lake debut and we think Kisner is in better form entering the 2020 installment. All aboard at PointsBet.

Joaquin Niemann (+138) over Patrick Reed

Niemann starts the week 2-under and Reed 3-under, so Reed enters with a one-stroke advantage. We still think there’s plenty of value on Niemann as an underdog in his East Lake debut. He was T-3 at last week’s BMW Championship and enters with plenty of confidence. Reed hasn’t played his best the last two weeks and doesn’t have any East Lake success to fall back on. He has only finished under par in one of six Tour Championship appearances, and he’s really struggling to find the fairway off the tee this season. That’ll cost him again this week and we like the underdog Niemann here. If you do too, enjoy these odds at FanDuel.

Viktor Hovland (-137) over Kevin Na

Another handicapped matchup here. This is more of a Na fade than a Hovland play. Hovland has been consistent enough in recent weeks that we’re comfortable taking him over Na, who has not played well around these parts. Na has never finished top-10 in six career Tour Championship starts, nor has he even finished under par for the week. Something about this course doesn’t fit his eye. Na starts the week 1-under while Hovland is even, but we’re confident the lead won’t last long. Make the wager at DraftKings.
