UFC Vancouver Main Event Best Bet
Reinier de Ridder (-198) vs. Brendan Allen (+164)
The headliner of UFC Vancouver features Reinier and Brendan Allen meeting for five rounds or fewer of middleweight action. De Ridder is a -198 favorite, and I believe he will win this fight.
De Ridder is 35, and he is 4-0 in the UFC. The Dutchman joined the UFC less than a year ago, but he has made waves in a short period of time, as he’s won all four of his UFC fights so far and has looked impressive every time out. He has great striking, and he has slick submission skills on the mat. He appears to be a serious title contender in the UFC middleweight division, and if de Ridder can impressively get past Allen in this fight, a title shot could be next for him.
Allen is 29, and he is 13-4 in the UFC. The American has been a very good middleweight since he joined the company in 2019, fighting a high level of competition over the years and beating almost everyone he has fought inside the Octagon. He has good striking skills and one of the better ground games at middleweight. That being said, this fight against de Ridder appears to be a hard stylistic matchup, as Allen will be taking on someone who edges him out in all areas. De Ridder is the more well-rounded fighter with the superior cardio, and I see him grinding Allen out over the course of 25 minutes, if not finishing him. Take de Ridder to win as a -198 favorite.

Other Vancouver Best Bets
Aiemann Zahabi (-125) vs. Marlon Vera (+105)
On the main card, bantamweights Aiemann Zahabi and Marlon Vera collide in what should be a “Fight of the Night” candidate. Zahabi is a -125 favorite, and I am picking him to win this fight.
Zahabi is 37, and he is 7-2 in the UFC. The Canadian has been a late bloomer in his MMA career. After losing two of his first three UFC bouts, Zahabi has won six straight fights to emerge as a legitimate bantamweight title contender. That includes a notable win over Jose Aldo in his last fight that earned him a top-10 ranking. Zahabi is dangerous anywhere the fight goes, and if he can get past Vera in this contest, it should earn him a top-five opponent in his next fight.
Vera is 32, and he is 15-9 in the UFC. The Ecuadorian has been one of the most exciting bantamweights to watch for more than a decade, and he is still ranked in the top-10 at 135 lbs all these years later. He has been in so many wars, and he always leaves his heart inside the cage. That being said, he does appear to be on the downside of his career. Vera has lost three of his last four fights entering this contest, and it doesn’t get any easier when he fights Zahabi.
Zahabi has been on a roll as of late, while Vera looks to have him in the decline phase of his MMA career. Look for Zahabi to win this fight by decision, and take him to win as a -125 favorite.

Charles Jourdan (-170) vs. Davey Grant (+142)
On the prelims, we have a bantamweight bout between Davey Grant and Charles Jourdain. Grant is a +142 underdog, yet I favor him to win this fight.
Grant is 39, and he is 8-6 in the UFC. The Brit may be one of the oldest fighters in the UFC bantamweight division, but he has been looking great in recent years, winning four of his last five fights entering this contest. Grant is a terrific boxer with a strong chin, he has underrated grappling, and he has fantastic cardio. He is one of the most exciting fighters in his weight class right now and is almost a guarantee to win a bonus every time that he steps into the Octagon.
Jourdain is 29, and he is 7-7-1 in the UFC. The Canadian is a very exciting fighter who is always in good fights that the fans love. He has a high-volume striking style, and he is also very dangerous on the ground with his submission skills. However, he is also very inconsistent, and he has struggled to string together wins in the UFC. He is coming off a nice finish in his last fight, snapping a two-fight losing skid, and now he will be looking to make it two straight wins.
Even though he’s nearing 40, Grant is fighting at a high level right now, and I expect him to outpoint Jourdain in an all-out war. Look for Grant to land the better shots in the exchanges and counter Jourdain’s grappling in this fight and take home the victory at +142 underdog odds.
