Philippe Clement 4/6 Parimatch
Kevin Muscat 13/8 bet365
John Eustace 20/1 Parimatch
Steven Davis 25/1 bet365
Derek McInnes 28/1 William Hill
Frank Lampard 33/1 Parimatch
Pascal Jansen 33/1 William Hill

Philippe Clement is now the odds-on betting favourite to become the next manager of Rangers. The Belgian has reportedly been offered a four-year deal to replace Michael Beale at Ibrox, although the prices suggest it's not certain that the Old Firm club will land their number one target. It appears that the other viable candidate is former Gers defender Kevin Muscat, with Rangers looking to get someone appointed imminently.

Several football betting sites have now priced up the Next Rangers manager betting odds, with Frank Lampard drifting for the role after trading as the initial favourite. It had been reported that the former Chelsea manager was keen to hold talks with the Scottish Premiership club although there are now several candidates at a shorter price.

This includes John Eustace who was sacked by Birmingham City on Monday, with the 43-year-old potentially open to the prospect of heading north of the border. Although Philippe Clement is the market leader, there continues to be rumours that former Gers player Kevin Muscat is open to the prospect of returning to Ibrox.

Philippe Clement Could Be Ready for Ibrox Challenge

Should Rangers want to go for a more experienced candidate, then perhaps Philippe Clement could tick the right boxes. The Belgian has previously held managerial roles with Genk, Club Brugge and Monaco, with the 49-year-old having left the French club earlier this year.

Clement actually played for Coventry City in the Premier League, with the manager's most successful stint being at Club Brugge where he guided them to Belgian Pro League titles in 2019-20 and 2020-21. He previously won the same competition with Genk.

His time with Monaco was between January 2022 and June 2023, with Clement enjoying a win rate of over 50% after presiding over 76 games. The betting odds suggest that he's in with a chance of landing the role at Rangers.

Kevin Muscat Among Rangers Manager Favourites

We've seen an Australian manager take charge at Celtic, and perhaps the same thing will happen at Glasgow Rangers. Kevin Muscat is well-known by supporters considering the 50-year-old played for the team, even if he only managed 22 appearances for the Old Firm outfit.

Muscat was the long-serving manager of Melbourne Victory between 2013-2019, with the Australian then taking charge of Belgian club Sint-Truiden before heading to Japan in 2021, and he continues to preside over Yokohama F. Marinos.

Interestingly, Muscat has now followed in Postecoglou's footsteps by taking charge of both Victory and Marinos after the roles were previously vacated by the former Celtic manager. It would therefore be a quirk of fate if we witnessed him heading back to Scotland and locking horns with Brendan Rodgers who is now in charge of the Hoops after replacing Postegoclou. The initial odds with UK betting sites would suggest it is a real possibility.

Eustace Lined Up for Ibrox?

John Eustace's time in charge at Birmingham City came to an end on Monday, after doing a good job at the English Championship club. The Blues currently sit sixth in the table after a 3-1 win over West Brom and Eustace was interestingly part of the coaching team at Queens Park Rangers before Michael Beale took that particular managerial post.

Eustace's stock has risen since taking the reins at St Andrews, and the Solihull-born manager proved popular with the supporters. After replacing Lee Bowyer in the summer of 2022, he was able to guide Birmingham to their highest ever points finish since 2016 but the Midlands club are ready to move in a new direction.

Should Rangers come calling, it might be difficult to turn down the opportunity. It would be interesting to see if the Scottish club go for someone who is relatively inexperienced in terms of being a number one, with Eustace's stint at Birmingham being his first managerial role aside from an opening gig at Kidderminster Harriers.

Lampard Keen to Hold Talks with Rangers

The new betting sites have shortened Frank Lampard's betting odds when it comes to the vacant position at Rangers. The 45-year-old has enjoyed a spate of coaching positions over the past few years, cutting his teeth at Derby County before getting the chance to manage his beloved Chelsea.

Lampard initially fared well with the Blues and engineered a top-four finish in his first season despite a transfer embargo. However, he was relieved of his duties the following campaign, with the former England midfielder then taking charge of Everton and he was able to keep the Toffees afloat in the top flight.

However, things went awry last season and Lampard then returned to former club Chelsea to take the reins after the departure of Graham Potter. Although that was a short stint, it's clear that he still has the appetite to coach at elite level and there appears to be interest from his quarter to replace Michael Beale.

Could Steven Davis Be Promoted From Within?

Steven Davis has been installed as interim manager of Rangers following the sacking of Michael Beale. He has called upon his players to restore some pride after a recent 3-1 home defeat against Aberdeen which prompted angry scenes at Ibrox at the final whistle.

According to the latest betting odds, Davis has a chance of getting the job on a permanent basis. Much depends on the next few results for the Gers, with Alex Rae and Steven Smith assisting the Northern Irishman in the quest for positive results.

If there is no other viable candidate in the offing, then Davis could have a realistic chance of getting the job. He has won 10 major honours with the club as a player and could immediately command the respect of the dressing room.

Pascal Jansen Enters Rangers Betting

We've got a relatively unknown coach among the betting favourites. The 50-year-old has been in charge of AZ since 2020, with the English-Dutch coach having created an attacking team who are currently competing in the UEFA Champions League.

Although AZ lost 4-0 to Arsenal in the Champions League, they are showing strong form in the Eredivisie, with Jansen thought to be open to the prospect of taking charge of such a historic club as Rangers.

However, some would argue that leaving AZ would represent a backward step considering the progress that he has made with this football club in the Netherlands.

Jesse Marsch Looking for New Project

Jesse Marsch is renowned for being something of a chest-beating manager, with the American having kept Leeds afloat in the Premier League at the end of the 2021/22 season. However, he wasn't given much time to get things right during the 2022/23 season before being sacked, and Rangers potentially represent a chance for him to return to management.

The 49-year-old was close to taking charge of Southampton last season before passing up the chance to replace Ralph Hasenhuttl, with the former Red Bull Salzburg coach having had a brief spell in charge of RB Leipzig although Rangers might regard him as a high-calibre candidate.

Marsch has some interesting coaching philosophies that might help Rangers get back on track, although much will depend on the sort of package that is offered. His current odds with suggests he will be one to watch in the market.

Could Hasenhuttl Apply for Vacant Manager's Position?

Ralph Hasenhuttl was the long-serving manager of Southampton until his departure in November 2022. The Austrian did some sterling work at St Mary's and kept the team in the Premier League before the powers-that-be decided to make a change and replace him with Nathan Jones.

Hasenhuttl could be regarded as something of a coup for the Gers considering he is a well-regarded coach who previously took charge of RB Leipzig between 2016-18, and the 56-year-old is now considering his next steps and he might enjoy a challenge north of the border.

It is clear that the Rangers squad is in need of an overhaul and several squad members are coming towards the end of their contract, with Hasenhuttl potentially excited by a project that involves building things back up at Ibrox.
