Tip 1 - 11:50 Punchestown - Its Bilbo

Tip 2 - 12:20 Punchestown - Ballygunner Castle

He shaped like a dour stayer when finishing a close second in a three mile Grade 3 at Clonmel last season on soft ground. Today’s conditions should be right up his street and Paul Townend has chosen him from the four Mullins horses he could have ridden. He looks to have a massive chance on chase debut.

Tip 3 - 1:25 Warwick - Rodney

The form of Chuggy from two chase starts for a top yard is something to beware, but we think it is Rodney who could well build on a promising chase debut last time out. Seems strange to say when he fell, but that was at the last when over four lengths clear. The third and fifth home were next time out winners, so the form is rock solid - if he can stay upright. Ready winner in first two races for yard earlier this year and looks to have been placed in here carefully.

Tip 4 - 2:25 Warwick - Marlacoo

Ignoring a 10th last time out and a fall almost a year ago, Marlacoo has impressed in his short career so far with two wins and six further top-threes in 10 races so far. What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
