There is no greater or more-anticipated sports event in the U.S. than the Super Bowl. There is also no comparison when it comes to the cost of experiencing it live.

It’s the biggest bucket list sporting event for many, but one may have to be willing to max out a credit card to make it happen. Super Bowl betting is also one of the most popular events to bet on at the best sports betting apps.

On Feb. 9th, Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans will be no exception, with two of the more passionate fan bases directly involved, as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs face Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.

This is the second time in three years these teams are meeting with the Lombardi Trophy on the line. KC rallied for a dramatic 38-35 victory in Super Bowl 57.

However, it appears interest has diminished in another Chiefs-Eagles matchup.

Bookies.com has calculated the cost of attending the Super Bowl between the Chiefs and Eagles. On average, two people will spend $17,798 on a pair of tickets, airfare, and two nights' hotel, with parking, a hot dog, and two beverages to wash it down.

Remember, these is the bargain basement ticket options.

While that sounds outrageous, and it is, it’s also a stark decrease from last year’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas. The matchup between the Chiefs and San Francsico 49ers averaged $21,586 per ticket, and slightly below the first Chiefs-Eagles Super Bowl showdown two years ago in Arizona ($18,016).

That’s not by the NFL’s design. Costs to attend a regular-season NFL game increased 20% in 2024 from the year before, and 34% in two seasons

For those coming to see their hometown team, the cost is $18,007 for those flying in from Philadelphia, and $17,589 for those coming from Kansas City.

Here is how it breaks down for those heading to the Caesars Superdome and New Orleans for the biggest spectacle in football.

Cheapest Available Super Bowl Tickets

Tickets make up the vast bulk of the cost of attending any NFL game, and the Super Bowl is certainly no exception.

Bookies.com reviewed tickets at Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, and other established resale sites. All the sites were about the same cost.

As of Jan. 27, the cost of two seats next to each other, for the cheapest available pair, came out to $13,900, or $6,950 per ticket. Site fees run into the thousands for all seats.

That is a notable decrease from last year’s event in Vegas, where a pair of tickets came to $19,050. The novelty of the first Super Bowl in the city, and proximity to San Francisco, were key factors in the additional cost.

This year’s cost is more in line with the first Chiefs-Eagles Super Bowl, which cost $7,040 for the cheapest seats ($14,080 for a pair).

The most expensive seats are going for nearly $25,000 each – which is less than half of last year’s top available seats. Many Eagles and Chiefs fans who are at the game two years ago may be skipping this one.

Super Bowl Plane Tickets

For the third year in a row, Kansas City will be filled with additional flights heading to the Super Bowl. The airlines, and airport, were ready.

On Jan. 27, the Monday following the conference championship games, the two cheapest roundtrip tickets from Kansas City to New Orleans could be had for $862. That’s a huge drop from last year’s game in Vegas ($1,417), and even bigger from the prior year’s trip to Phoenix ($2,700).

Roundtrip seats from Philadelphia aren’t nearly as affordable, but the average of $1,280 for two seats isn’t bad, considering how expensive other aspects of the trip will be.

To find the best realistic deal, Bookies.com priced out two round-trip tickets from the local metro airports into Harry Reid International Airport using budget travel sites. We excluded flights that were overnighters and those that included over 10 hours of total one-way time.

Super Bowl Hotel Rooms

There are roughly 41,000 hotel rooms available in the greater New Orleans area. That’s likely not enough for a large amount of people coming, and that drives up costs.

The most affordable options for two nights at a hotel that got at least two stars, as of Jan. 27, came out to $2,688.

Last year, Bookies.com took three of the biggest chain hotels – Hilton, Marriott, and IHG – and averaged out the lowest available rooms within 20 miles of the stadium. This time around, there were no available rooms by any of those three chains. The cost last year was just $900.

Lot Parking

Parking near the Caesars Superdome wasn’t easy during the regular season. The Super Bowl takes it all to new heights, so no surprise that it won’t be cheap to bring a car or use a ride share.

The average parking spot a week before the game could be reserved for under $100 – $91 to be exact, about $15 higher than last year’s game in more-spacious Las Vegas.

For those who plan to get dropped off at the game, estimates for Uber, Lyft, and other similar services come out to about $75.

Beer/Hot Dogs

Want to wash down some food with a sudsy adult beverage? Expect to pay nearly the cost of a 24-pack for a single 16-ouncer.

A 24-pack of Bud Light at retail stores runs about $22.99. One Bud Light at the Super Bowl is likely to run about $17, or $34 for a pair of suds.

That’s a markup of about 100% from regular-season pricing around NFL stadiums. The average cost for two beers was just under $18.

Keep in mind, though, that these prices are for domestic.

A hot dog at the Superdome for a Saints game costs about $6.25. Same place, different crowd, and the price tag has doubled to $14.
