College Football Predictions & Free Picks: 5 Must-Bets For Week 13

Dan Kilbridge | 6 mins

The college football betting season is coming to a close, but we’ve got a loaded Thanksgiving weekend slate to tackle before moving on to conference championships.
Rivalry week is always tricky. You have teams that are shells of themselves from just a few months ago, with losses and injuries piling up. That’s exactly what we’re looking at in the Iron Bowl with Auburn quarterback Bo Nix done for the season.
The Tide haven’t looked overwhelming in recent weeks and have slipped to third on the board with +400 national title odds . This certainly looks like a blowout on paper, but Auburn has beaten Alabama outright at home in three of the past four matchups.
On the other hand, we also have an elite matchup for a spot in the Big Ten title game with Ohio State traveling to Michigan. Both teams are as close to full-strength as can be this time of year and the stakes are high as ever for what should be a great top-10 matchup in Ann Arbor.
Those are just two of the games we are watching on our betting apps as the regular season comes to a close, with the College Football Playoff race still wide open.
Saturday College Football Week 13 Best Bets
Nebraska ATS over Iowa
Forget the records here and focus on the matchup. Nebraska has endured a brutal five-game stretch against Michigan, Minnesota, Purdue, Ohio State and Wisconsin, losing all five. We like the Cornhuskers to finish strong with a win in what is now their Super Bowl, as they’ll be home for Bowl season.
Iowa’s offense is really going to struggle and Nebraska just posted 452 yards against the Big Ten’s best defense in a close loss at Wisconsin. The Huskers have nothing to lose here and we expect Iowa to come out tight. We like the college football odds on Nebraska +1.5 over Iowa Friday afternoon.

Ohio State ATS over Michigan
The Buckeyes offense has been on another planet lately. It posted a total of 1,279 yards in its last two games against Purdue and Michigan State, and quarterback CJ Stroud is completely dialed in. Michigan’s defense is good, but it isn’t that good.
The Wolverines aren’t built to play from behind and the Buckeyes have been pouncing from the opening whistle. Ohio State has won 15 of the last 16 matchups in this rivalry, including five of the last six by double digits. We expect more of the same Saturday at the Big House. We’re on Ohio State -8 over Michigan at BetMGM. ➜

Wisconsin ATS over Minnesota
This Minnesota offense relies too heavily on the run for this matchup. The Badgers only allow 64.3 rushing yards per game and have held opponents under 300 yards of offense in six of eight games. Wisconsin has everything to play for – win and they’re in to face Ohio State or Michigan in the Big Ten title game.
We’re taking the favorite here with Wisconsin -7 at sportsbooks and betting sites.
Pittsburgh ATS over Syracuse
The Panthers are already locked in for the ACC title game, but this team has stayed focused all year with an 8-3 record against the spread. Syracuse is playing for bowl eligibility and will try to slow this Pitt offense down. That’s not looking likely after the Orange gave up 41 points in each of back-to-back losses against Louisville and North Carolina State. Senior Panthers quarterback Kenny Pickett shines in his final regular-season game as this one gets ugly late.
We’re betting Pittsburgh -13 on our favorite sports betting app.
Auburn ATS over Alabama
Auburn quarterback Bo Nix is done for the year, and backup TJ Finley struggled mightily against South Carolina last week. It won’t get any easier this week with Alabama coming to Auburn for the Iron Bowl. We have to ignore the narratives here and focus on the line, and it’s a lot of points for this rivalry no matter who’s starting.
Auburn’s defense is still playing well for the most part. It will be tough sledding offensively but the Tide defense has seemingly lost focus at times this season. It only takes one or two bounces for a spread like this to swing the other way, and we expect Auburn to cover +19.5.
