Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets took Game 1 in a highly entertaining 121-119 matchup that came down to the final shot. Now, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder look to even the series before it heads to Denver. 

Leg 1: The Nuggets won Game 1 despite a big game from SGA and unexpected scoring outbursts from players like Alex Caruso and Lu Dort. Jokic proved unstoppable, and the Nuggets won despite missing 22 3-pointers. This game, at worst for Denver, should be closer than what the spread suggests. 

Leg 2: Nuggets forward Christian Braun averaged just over 15 ppg on the season for the Nuggets. He managed only 11 points in Game 1’s win over the Thunder, but played 40 minutes. His scoring is slightly down in the postseason, but he did have 14 and 21 in the final two games vs. the Clippers and scored at least 14 points in all four regular-season matchups vs. OKC.

Leg 3: Active Nuggets PG Russell Westbrook had just two rebounds in 30 minutes in Game 1 vs. the Thunder. But he’d grabbed 10 and 5 in the final two games vs. the Clippers, averaged 5 per game on the season, and had at least five in all four regular-season matchups with OKC. As great as the Thunder defense can be, no team allowed more rebounds to the PG position.
