5 Lions-Packers Prop Bets & Betting Lines To Back On MNF

Every team in the NFC North enters Week 6 of the NFL season with a winning record. The top two teams in the deepest division face off on Monday Night Football when the Green Bay Packers host the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field.

The Lions have beaten the rival Packers four straight times, but Green Bay is 25-3 against Detroit in the state of Wisconsin since 1992. These teams are a combined 7-2 against the spread this season.

Let’s take a look at some of the best bets fans of NFL betting should consider:

PICK 1: Over 46.5 Points

The Over is 6-3 in games involving these teams. What’s more, the Over is 2-0 in Lions road games and 2-1 in Packers home games, and it’s hit in six of the last seven meetings between these teams.

One more reason to like this'number' => The Over is 4-1 in Detroit games on Monday night, and 4-1 in Green Bay games, too. These defenses rank 22nd and 27th in yards allowed.

PICK 2: Packers -0.5 First Quarter

Few teams have come out of the gates stronger than Green Bay. The Packers have led 7-0 in two if their five games, and 14-0 in two others. Only once did they not lead after one quarter, and that was the opener (3-0 vs. the Bears). They’re the No. 3 scoring team in the opening 15 minutes with the No. 2 first-quarter defense.

The Aaron Rodgers-led offense has been strong out of the gate for the Packers.

Detroit led 10-0 on the Chiefs after one quarter in its last game, but trailed in two others with its opener against the Cardinals at 0-0.

PICK 3: Total Turnovers – 2-3

The Packers have committed just four turnovers in five games, the Lions six in four games. That said, Green Bay’s lone interception was a forced throw at the end of the loss to the Eagles, and two of Detroit’s turnovers were brutal red-zone efforts in a four-point loss to the Chiefs.

Both teams are on the plus side of turnover differential but their games this year have averaged 3.2 turnovers per game.

PICK 4: Highest Scoring Quarter – Third Quarter

Third quarters often get high odds, and it’s no different for Monday.

The points allowed and points scored splits for both teams a mishmash that doesn’t show a slam dunk for any specific quarter, so let’s consider the last four Packers games and the last three Lions games, the second halves started with a touchdown.

PICK 5: Lions +4.5

Lions running back Kerryon Johnson could do some damage against a Packers defense allowing 5.1 yards per rush.

All four Lions games have been decided by four points or less. They’ve beaten the Packers the last two trips to Lambeau and Green Bay won’t have a healthy Davante Adams, if at all.

Green Bay’s defense has been a bend-not-break unit, but it's allowing 5.1 yards per rush, and the Lions defensive strengths match up with the Packers’ strengths.
