NFL Week 11 was one of the lowest-scoring daily fantasy sports weeks in in 2019 as only two players had 30 or more points (Christian McCaffrey and Lamar Jackson). Week 12 might not be much better as there are four teams with a bye, including the Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. Several top quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers won't be available this week, making DFS even more challenging.

To be profitable in Week 12, DFS players will need to find consistent scorers at each position and limit risks as total scores could be down given the four teams on bye. So without further ado, here are our top DFS picks for this week:

Top DFS Team for Week 11

Pos. Player Matchup DraftKings
Price
QB Tom Brady Patriots vs. Cowboys $6,000
RB Le’Veon Bell Jets vs. Raiders $6,400
RB James White Patriots vs. Cowboys $5,300
WR Julian Edelman Patriots vs. Cowboys $6,900
WR Allen Robinson Bears vs. Giants $6,700
WR Calvin Ridley Falcons vs. Buccaneers $5,100
TE Vance McDonald Steelers at Bengals $3,900
FLEX Jarvis Landry Browns vs. Dolphins $5,200
D/ST Philadelphia Eagles Eagles vs. Seahawks $2,800

Note: Prices from DraftKings are based on a $50,000 salary cap for the week

Best Week 12 DFS QB

Patriots QB Tom Brady ($6,000 on DraftKings)

Matchup: New England Patriots vs. Dallas Cowboys

The Patriots' offense hasn't looked quite right over the last few weeks, in part due to poor play from Tom Brady. In his previous two games, Brady has thrown just one touchdown and has a passer rating of 73.8. However, Brady has always dominated at home and this season has been no different as he has thrown seven touchdowns to just one interception in Foxboro.

On Sunday, New England will host a Dallas team that has allowed big games this season to quarterbacks such as Jeff Driskel and Sam Darnold. With the Patriots back at home, look for Brady to have a field day against a Dallas defense that has allowed 28 and 27 points in back-to-back weeks.

Best Week 12 DFS RB

Jets RB Le’Veon Bell ($6,400 on DraftKings)

Matchup: New York Jets vs. Oakland Raiders

NFL Week 12 DFS Picks: Ride Tom Brady & Patriots Connection 1

It has been tough sledding this season for Le’Veon Bell, who is averaging just 3.2 yards per carry with the Jets this season. Despite 161 carries, Bell has only three rushing touchdowns on one of the worst and most inconsistent offenses in the league.

However, the Jets offense has averaged nearly 29 points per game in their previous three contests. This week, they host the Raiders at 1 p.m. Eastern. West Coast teams traveling East generally start games slowly and the Raiders don't exactly have the most dominating defense. In Week 11, they allowed the Bengals to rush for 173 yards on 22 attempts in Oakland.

Bell is still a consistent player, scoring at least 16.5 fantasy points in his past three games, and this is the type of matchup he could dominate. Look for the former All-Pro running back to see at least 20 touches as he could potentially have his best game of the season.

Best Week 12 DFS WR

Patriots WR Julian Edelman ($6,900 on DraftKings)

Matchup: New England Patriots vs. Dallas Cowboys

If you are going to play Tom Brady at quarterback this week, you might as well stack him with his favorite target, Julian Edelman. Edelman has been relatively consistent this season, averaging 17.7 fantasy points per game, and has been a monster at home. In four home games Edelman has 30 receptions for 336 yards and three touchdowns on 47 targets.

The Cowboys lost slot cornerback Anthony Brown to a triceps injury this week, so Edelman could be looking at another big home performance. Considering that he’s averaged over 21.5 fantasy points per game at home this season, consider him one of the safest wide receiver plays of Week 12.

Best Week 12 DFS TE

Steelers TE Vance McDonald ($3,500 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals

NFL Week 12 DFS Picks: Ride Tom Brady & Patriots Connection 2

Finding a consistent tight end has been a struggle for all DFS players this season from week to week. While players like Austin Hooper and Zach Ertz are becoming more reliable, their price tags are still a problem. If you are looking to fade the top two or three tight ends this week, consider playing Vance McDonald of the Pittsburgh Steelers instead.

Once it was announced that Ben Roethlisberger was lost for the season, McDonald's ceiling dropped significantly. After Week 2, McDonald has had just one game in which he scored more than seven points. However, everything is lining up for him to have a big game against the 0-10 Bengals on Sunday. Pittsburgh will likely be without top passing targets Juju Smith-Shuster and Diontae Johnson as both are dealing with concussions.

And with running back James Conner likely out with a shoulder issue, the Steelers might rely on McDonald to carry the offense. Given the situation and the opponent, McDonald is a solid play at just $3,500 this week.

Best Week 12 DFS Flex

Browns WR Jarvis Landry ($6,300 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Matchup: Cleveland Browns vs. Miami Dolphins

Odell Beckham Jr. has received a lot of the buzz but Jarvis Landry actually has been Baker Mayfield’s favorite target this season. Over the past four weeks, Landry has seen 40 targets and has converted those chances into 24 receptions for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Landry has yet to have a monster game this season but he has eclipsed double-digit fantasy points in seven of the team’s 10 contests.

On Sunday, Landry will face his former team, the Miami Dolphins. Considering the Dolphins allow the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing receivers, it’s likely he will have another good game this week. Expect Mayfield to target Landry early and often this week as he is a pretty safe bet to score a touchdown in Week 12.
