What To Know About ESPN BET Kentucky November 14th Launch

Breaking news struck the online sports gaming industry when ESPN and Penn Entertainment announced a partnership.

Penn Entertainment rebranded as ESPN BET and launched November 14th in the 16 states where Barstool Sportsbook —Penn Entertainment’s previous platform host—was operating.

That number could also grow, with Penn Entertainment applying for an online sports betting license in Kentucky, which is set to launch online sports betting in the state late next month.

It’s a potentially monumental move for bettors in the Bluegrass State, who will be able to place wagers at the newest major online sports betting operator during the heart of football season.

ESPN has long made sense as a company getting into the online sports betting scene. As one of the largest media entities in the country, it had already started wading into those waters with its sports gambling-centric television shows and segments.

In addition, ESPN has an agreement with Caesars Sportsbook to showcase odds on all programming, from SportsCenter to actual games.

It was a slight surprise to see ESPN and Penn Entertainment apply for a license in the Bluegrass State so quickly after its announcement, but it also makes sense considering Kentucky is the next state in the U.S. to launch online sports betting.

Where Is ESPN BET Legal?

Barstool Sportsbook was live in 16 states. That included: Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Obviously, Kentucky adds a 17th state to that list, and there’s speculation that ESPN BET could apply for a license in Connecticut given that BetRivers left the state and ESPN headquarters are in Bristol, Connecticut.

For now, it’s the 16 states with Kentucky.

Is ESPN BET Kentucky Legit?

Yes, ESPN Bet Kentucky is a legitimate online sportsbook. It operates the same way as the other major operators in the state.

ESPN Bet KY provides bettors with hundreds of different betting options each day, fluid transactions from a banking perspective, and encrypted software that means your personal information is safe and all transactions are secure.

While there is some concern that a media outlet wading into the online sports betting scene could create a conflict of interest in terms of reporters withholding information, it’s important to understand that Penn Entertainment is setting lines and odds.

ESPN is simply the host platform for the online sportsbook. State commissions and regulators will ensure that Kentucky bettors are getting a fair shake with each bet they place at ESPN Bet Kentucky.

Top Features Of ESPN BET Kentucky

ESPN BET Kentucky always has some sort of promotion or offer running that enhances the sports betting experience and increases the potential payout to bettors—at no additional cost to them.
