Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season concludes with two Monday Night Football showdowns. The first of those features two teams looking to ascend to new levels, as Saquon Barkley and the New York Giants host Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Big Ben missed most of last year (shoulder), while the Giants have a new coach in Joe Judge. Each team is hungry to get 2020 off to a good start.

Steelers -5.5 over Giants

The Giants are going to surprise some teams this season — but it won’t be in Week 1. There is a new coach, a new offensive line, an attempted restricting of a defense that was porous last year and no preseason games to work out the kinks. The Giants are going to struggle finding the end zone against TJ Watt and one of the league’s premier defenses. Roethlisberger will get a chance to ease back into things against a Giants defense that is a year away from being good against the pass or run. New York is a paltry 1-10 ATS in its past 11 as a home underdog. Bet on the Steelers at DraftKings.

Steelers-Giants Under 48
Neither side is going to be at its sharpest with the ball in Week 1. The Giants have a new coach with no head coaching experience and a revamped offensive line. Roethlisberger is back after nearly a year on the sidelines. Each team will look to establish the run first, which means fewer plays and running clocks. The Under hit in seven of Pittsburgh’s last eight games to close out 2019. Take the Under at Unibet.
Steelers Moneyline
It’s going to be tough for a Giants’ offense with a lot of new factors vs. a Steelers defense that is poised to be a top-five unit in the NFL. New York’s defense is a work in progress, too. Week 1 isn’t when things come together in Gotham. Look for Pittsburgh to welcome Big Ben back with a victory. Wager on the Steelers at DraftKings.
James Conner — 2 Or More TDs +240

Roethlisberger will need time to readjust to the NFL game, especially with no preseason. In the meantime, expect a healthy dose of Conner. Earlier in the week, coach Mike Tomlin labeled Conner as the team’s “bell cow” — the running back is going to get his touches. Against a Giants defense that should be susceptible to the run, look for a big night from Conner. If you agree, get good odds at BetMGM.

James Conner — 75+ Yards
Again, Conner is going to get his touches. All 13 teams that ran the ball at least 27 times vs. the Giants last year gained more than 75 yards. Conner has gained 100 years in every career game in which he has had at least 16 carries. If Tomlin sticks to his gameplan, Conner will eat. Ride the Steelers running back with FanDuel.
First Half — Steelers -3.5
Each team is going to need time to get going on offense. There is a chance the Giants don’t get going at all against the Steelers’ defense, especially in the first half. Expect Pittsburgh to use the run to set up the pass. If Big Ben is ready, he’ll have opportunities. The Giants might find it especially difficult to get going in the opening 30 minutes. Take Pittsburgh in the first half with PointsBet.
