Thanksgiving is an NFL holiday, and 2024 offers juicy showdowns starting with the Detroit Lions hosting the Chicago Bears, followed by the Dallas Cowboys hosting the rival New York Giants, and capped off with a marquee matchup between the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers at historic Lambeau Field.

Bears vs. Lions Picks

Since the Bears changed offensive coordinators, Chicago lost to Green Bay on a missed field goal before taking the Vikings to overtime. Against a banged-up Detroit secondary, the Bears should be able to have success through the air. Of course, when the Lions have the ball, they should succeed on the ground, even if David Montgomery (shoulder) is limited or out. However, the Bears have one of the best pass defenses in the league. That could lead to Detroit scoring 24 or fewer points. In that scenario, the Bears can keep this game within 10 points. – Jim Coventry

Bears vs. Lions Top Player Prop

DJ Moore

Since the Bears changed offensive coordinators, Moore has posted 62 and 106 yards. This week, he'll be facing a Lions defense that plays a high rate of man coverage combined with a high blitz rate. That should help Moore convert short passes into big yardage after the catch against a set of cornerbacks who are far from elite in coverage. NFL Odds: Over 30.5 Receiving Yards (-115)  at BetMGM

I know the elements are a big concern here for the Miami offense, but the Dolphins running game has struggled all season, so 25-degree-weather or not, they’re going to have to throw on the Green Bay defense. Smith has gone over this number in four straight — and six of his last seven — and the Packers’ defense has struggled against tight ends, allowing 8.4 yards per target and an 80.0% catch rate (third-highest in the NFL). – Nick Whalen
