Maurizio Sarri is now the odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked, with 888Sport making the Chelsea boss just 4/5 in the sack race.
Sarri’s Blues subsided to a humiliating 6-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, and after slipping out of the top four, online bookmakers have made him the new favourite to get the chop next.
That 6-0 reversal came just days after a 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth, and with ‘Sarriball’ clearly failing to take hold at Stamford Bridge, the bookies think the Italian could be packing his bags soon.

Sarri leads the betting ahead of under-pressure Marco Silva at Everton (3/1) and Claude Puel at Leicester (5/1), though both are a long way behind the beleaguered Chelsea boss.
An 888Sport spokesman said: “Roman Abramovich is hardly known for showing patience with his managers – and yesterday’s humiliation at Man City could be the final straw for Maurizio Sarri.
“We now make him the odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League boss sacked.
“Sarri’s Blues started the season on fire, but the Italian looks like he’s completely lost the Chelsea dressing room, and the fans.
“We could be in for another manager going through the Stamford Bridge revolving door very soon.”
The embarrassing defeat sees Maurizio Sarri’s team finish the weekend in sixth and the battered Blues are now 5/4 for a Top 4 finish with Bet365.
Bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth said: “Chelsea’s top four price has gone from 1/6 to 5/4 over the last couple of months and their poor showings away from home are becoming a common theme.”
Elsewhere, Betway don’t expect Sarri to be Chelsea’s manager for much longer, with the Italian just 1/6 not to be at Stamford Bridge at the start of next season, but they don't think he'll go just yet.
The online bookmaker see him remaining in the dugout for a re-match with Chelsea in the League Cup final next weekend at 2/5.
However, it does appear his days are numbered and Betway makes Sarri’s assistant Gianfranco Zola the 5/2 favourite to replace him, with the Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone his closest pursuer at 7/2.
Former Liverpool manager and current Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers comes next at 6/1, while club legends Frank Lampard (16/1) and John Terry (33/1) are further down the pecking order.
