Champions League sensation Erling Braut Haaland is being tipped for a summer move to the Premier League having taken Europe’s premier club competition by storm.

The 19-year-old has hit an incredible 16 goals in 14 Austrian Bundesliga games for RB Salzburg this season, but has also proved himself on the biggest stage with eight goals in six games in the Champions League. as his side finished third in Group E, thereby dropping into the Europa League.

His personal stats have broken records for a rookie in the competition. Indeed, the last teenager to make such an impact in the UCL group stage was Wayne Rooney, who hit a hat-trick on his debut, but Haaland topped the Manchester United legend by scoring in all but one group game.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the Norway international has a transfer release clause of just £17million ($22.5m), though suitors appear willing to pay up to £85m ($112m) to beat off competition for his signature.

'Haaland is EPL Bound'

“He’s a revelation,” former Liverpool defender Phil Babb told Bookies.com. “He’s strong, confident and the real driving force in that Salzburg team.

“I think we’ll see him in the Premier League next season. He ticks a lot of boxes with his physicality, his technical ability, I’m looking forward to the prospect of him playing in England next year.”

Sportsbooks in the UK suggest Manchester United is Haaland’s most likely destination, with William Hill (+350) and Betfair (+300) both favoring the Red Devils in the betting on Haaland’s next club.

Of course, Haaland is already familiar with United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having previously worked with his compatriot at Norwegian champions Molde FK.

As such, United are streaks ahead of any other Premier League club in the market on Haaland’s future, with Liverpool (+1600) and Manchester City (+2000) not thought to be particularly interested in signing him.

United 'Should Sign Mbappe Instead'

However, former defender Babb – who played against Haaland’s father multiple times in the Premier League – believes United should instead look to sign a ready-made world-class forward if they are to have any hope of closing the gap on their fierce rivals Liverpool and City.

“Manchester United are rebuilding and they already have very young forwards,” he said.

“Anthony Martial is still young and if he can stay fit he’ll score goals. Marcus Rashford is only 22 and, even though he’s moved back out to the left, he looks comfortable and he’s scoring plenty of goals.

“The likes of Kylian Mbappe – an established superstar – is probably what Manchester United need.

“They’ve had some of the best strikers in the world in the past, and someone like Mbappe is more what they need rather than someone like Haaland.

“But it could depend on what Haaland’s fee will be – I’m sure there’s a number of clubs looking at him.”

Indeed, German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund (+800) and RB Leipzig (+600) – who enjoy a commercial relationship with Haaland’s club RB Salzburg – are also in the running to sign him, while Real Madrid (+3300) are big outsiders.
