Arsenal have not had the best of the summers so far and, to make matters worse, their captain Laurent Koscielny has now refused to travel on the club's pre-season tour of the US.

Koscielny, who is in the final year of his contract at Arsenal, opted not to make the trip to America as he seeks a move away from North London and it is another unwanted problem for Gunners boss Unai Emery, who is already enduring a frustrating summer transfer window.

It seems a parting of the ways is now inevitable in the wake of Koscielny's shock stance and there is no shortage of takers for the experienced central defender.

Where Will Koscielny Go?

A return to his native France seems the most likeliest of moves for Koscielny and two clubs seem to be battling it out in the betting market for favouritism.

Bordeaux have been understood to be leading the chase for Koscielny this summer, but they have been overtaken by Rennes at odds on 10/11 (-110) with Betfair to sign the player, with Bordeaux drifting out to second favourites at 6/5 (+150) for the former France international.

Lyon come next in the market at 13/2 (+650) to bring the former Lorient stopper back to his homeland, while Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are a 12/1 (+1200) shot to offer Koscielny a move to the French capital.

Italian champions Juventus are an 18/1 (+1800) shot to offer Koscielny a route away from the Premier League, while German powerhouses Bayern Munich are rated major outsiders at 20/1 (+2000) to sign the defender, having shown an interest in his services in the past.

Outsiders in Koscielny Race

Real Madrid are also a 20/1 (+2000) chance to make a surprise move for Koscielny, while Manchester United, who are widely known to be in the market for defensive reinforcements this summer, are available at 22/1 (+2200) to raid Premier League rivals Arsenal for the Frenchman.

Barcelona, who appear to have missed out to Juventus on the signing of Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt, are the rank outsiders at 25/1 (+2500) to bring Koscielny to the Nou Camp as they consider defensive recruits.

Koscielny has been a great servant to Arsenal having made over 350 appearances for the Gunners since his arrival in 2010, but it seems now he will bring down the curtain on his Arsenal career this summer.
