One of the most anticipated World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) events is here, Money in the Bank.
Winners of the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank match receive a championship match at any time they want, within a year’s time of winning the said match.
There are other matches besides Money in the Bank, however, which includes four big title fights.
Women’s Championship Match Odds
Becky Lynch, who currently possesses both the Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championship, finds herself in two separate matches.
Her Raw Women’s Championship will be defended against Lacey Evans, in which Lynch has odds to win set at –500.
Considering Lacey Evans has only competed in three WWE matches since debuting at the Royal Rumble, those odds seem accurate. Evans is still considered a ‘rookie’ despite an unbeaten record in singles matches on Raw (2-0).
The other match Becky finds herself in is against Ric Flair’s daughter, Charlotte.
Becky’s odds to defeat ‘The Queen’ is much lower than her odds to defeat Evans, as Lynch’s odds against the Nature Boy’s daughter drop to –177.
Lynch is still favored, but not by much which is concerning when exploring other odds related to Becky's two matches.
888Sport had Becky’s odds to hold both belts after Money in the Bank ends at +110, which is below 50 percent.
However, the odds Becky loses both belts after the event ends is only 30.8 percent meaning she is guaranteed to win at minimum one of her matches.
Becky's match against Evans seems more of a lock than her match against Charlotte, as her odds of winning both is a tossup at this point.
KofiMania vs Kevin Owens
Kofi Kingston is still the WWE champion after winning the belt at Wrestlemania in April.
KofiMania is still alive, as are his odds to retain the belt against Kevin Owens.
Currently, Kofi has odds to retain his belt set at –200. Those odds seem dangerous, as there is no guarantee Kingston will walk out of Money in the Bank still WWE champion.
Owens has Sami Zayn to help him out, but Kofi has Xavier Woods to counter if needed.
There is also the possibility that Kingston has his WWE Championship cashed-in on if he does defeat Owens.
However, the Universal Championship has better odds (-155) than the WWE Championship to be cashed-in on (+110).
This means that if Kofi does retain his WWE Championship, he will more than likely not see a cash-in attempt on his title at Money in the Bank or even in the future.
The threat of Kevin Owens winning is still very much there, so Kofi at –200 seems to be a bit high. Perhaps the match ending in a pinfall or submission is a safer route to take at –335.
Keep in mind that the method of victory may very well be a disqualification if Zayn or Woods were to get involved, as mentioned earlier.
Monday Night Rollins
The Universal Championship is up for grabs as well, with Seth Rollins taking on A.J. Styles.
This will be the first time either has faced the other inside a WWE ring, two of the most polarizing stars in wrestling today.
Rollins has overwhelming odds to retain his Universal Championship, set at –400.
It does seem likely that Rollins will, in fact, retain his belt, being built up as the top star on Monday Night Raw and all of WWE.
His match at Wrestlemania to defeat Brock Lesnar almost guaranteed that Rollins is the wagon Vince McMahon is going to hitch his business on to for 2019.
Expect Seth to not only beat Styles but to hold the Universal Championship for at least a few months.
The Money in the Bank cash-in threat is always there but for his match against Styles, it seems a lock Seth will retain.
The odds their match ends in a pinfall is currently at –560. If there was any conviction from bookmakers that Styles had a chance to win, the submission method of victory would probably be higher than +800.
Rollins to win is a solid pick despite the high odds and for those feeling impulsive, perhaps doubling down on a pinfall win is the way to go.
