The self-professed Special One Jose Mourinho was sacked as manager of Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce after failing to qualify for the Champions League. It followed a tumultuous year in charge that provided more moaning off the pitch than positivity on it.

Given Mourinho’s high profile, and his lust for winning trophies everywhere he’s been (sorry, Tottenham fans), it is no surprise that his name is being linked to jobs all around the world. Mourinho Set for Saudi Venture?

With Mourinho’s star fading somewhat after being sacked in his last five roles with Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Roma and now Fenerbahce, perhaps he will look for a larger payday than he might be able to secure elsewhere. That would be in the form of the rapidly expanding Saudi Pro League.

Mourinho made his name in football management with Porto before going on to create a CV that almost every manager in the world would be daunted by. That would have previously made a move into Scottish football unthinkable. However, with Mourinho's profile not what it once was, and Rangers having ambitious owners, perhaps this could be the perfect marriage.

International Management Could Come Calling

There has been a belief for some time that eventually Mourinho would manage the Portugal national team, while there were reports that Mourinho could have been a target for the FA to manage England some time ago.

While Portugal have a manager seemingly safely in charge in Roberto Martinez, England's Thomas Tuchel only has a deal that takes him to the end of next year's World Cup, so expect Mourinho’s odds to shorten with most fast withdrawal betting sites if he stays out of a job until then.
