Tip 1 - 12:23 Catterick - Highfield Viking
Highfield Viking has been a consistent turf horse throughout his career, winning four times and finishing in the top three in eight further attempts. Two of his victories came over 7f in August, both of which were very comfortable albeit at a lower grade, but he’s dealt pretty well with a significant rating hike off the back of those and should compete again Saturday.

Tip 2 - 1:30 Ascot - Mission Central
Charlie Appleby’s Words Of Truth certainly looks imposing opposition, but we’re hopeful that a move back to six furlongs will be just what Mission Central needs to get back to his previous progressive form. Cosy winner of a Group 3 at the Curragh in August before flopping when dropping back down to five furlongs in Group 2 company. Back to optimum trip, he should be able to run the favourite closer here.

Tip 3 - 2:45 Ascot - Kalpana
This might be a Group 1, but the race is definitely a drop in class for Kalpana who ran in the Arc last time out. She won’t have enjoyed the very soft conditions she faced that day, so back on a sounder surface, she can make her class tell and finally grab that elusive win her performances this year have deserved.

Tip 4 - 4:40 Ascot - Arisaig
Arisaig has been holding his own in a higher grade than this of late, finishing a close third behind Jonquil in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood before another solid effort in the Rosemary Stakes at Newmarket. He’s got plenty of Ascot form, including a solid effort behind the opposing Ebt’s Guard here in August. Held up that day, he just got going too late. With Jamie Spencer in the saddle, those tactics could pay off in this bigger field.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?
We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundreds and hundreds of tips this year.
What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
