Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Tip 1 - 2:13 Newbury - Star Of Affinity

Star Of Affinity is gunning for a hat-trick after romping home at Taunton and then Kempton this calendar year, winning both by over four lengths and proving that a step up in grade is no issue for the six-year-old. Those wins came over 2m3f and 2m5f respectively, and even a 9lb rise is unlikely to stop him improving further from his last two runs.

Tip 2 - 2.48 Newbury - Ocean Conquest

Ocean Conquest held a pretty lofty rating of 92 on the flat, managing to pick up a win in a maiden at Punchestown. His hurdling debut didn’t go too well, but he has got better at his new discipline on each run. Second time out he finished about 17 lengths behind Lulamba, which might be good enough to take this if Lulamba is as good as the vibes suggest. Sam Twiston-Davies on board for the first time should get him pointed in the right direction.

Tip 3 - Lingfield - Coul Angel

There are a number of intriguing looking horses in this race, but it is probably the most unexposed we are interested in here. Won narrowly at third time of asking in January at Kempton, with the second, third and fourth home all winning their next start. Carbine Harvester is bidding for a four-timer but is up 14 pounds since the start of the run, while So Darn Hot’s impressive win last time came with a seven-pound claimer. Losing that and rising five pounds is a big jump. Coul Angel is the call.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
