Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Tip 1 - 2:10 Leopardstown - Avandra

Avandra has caught the eye in her last two starts. Held up right out the back each time, she’s stayed on to good effect late on. Last time out in particular was promising, as she was badly hampered by a faller when coming with her run. Philip Rothwell tries cheekpieces on his mare today for the first time. If they can eek out any improvement, she looks sure to go close at a decent price.

Tip 2 - 2:55 Newcastle - The Dark Edge

Back over his preferred trip, The Dark Edge has a great chance to pick up his second win over hurdles against what looks like a weak looking field. His consistent running has meant he has been on the same mark for his last couple of runs, but they have probably been over a distance too far for him. Back over the intermediate trip on his ground he should be seen to maximum effect.

Tip 3 - 3:25 Newcastle - Cave Hill

Cave Hill has scored at Newcastle before, winning over hurdles here in December. Two subsequent efforts at Ayr were nowhere near as good, but the ground was a ready-made excuse. Back on a sound surface today, with Alan Doyle able to claim three pounds, he looks primed for a big run in his first start over fences.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
