Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently, that’s why we only use the best analysts and tipsters in the UK and Ireland to give their advice on this page. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose.

Tip 1 - 1.50 Market Rasen - Miners Gamble

Miners Gamble makes the switch in codes for the first time to try his hand over hurdles. A horse who didn’t really have the speed for the flat and looked better the further he went could be suited by the change in discipline for Brian Ellison. A hood equipped for the first time also suggests they aren’t just here for the day out.

Tip 2 - 3:20 Market Rasen - Sunset Hill

The best form of the field in this race by far is Sunset Hill, who was last seen finishing fifth of six in Grade 2 company at Doncaster. Prior to that had won in a Class 3 novices’ race and followed up with a second in a mares’ hurdle. She drops down in class here and should be fairly competitive off a mark of 115 unless one like Miss Cynthia bolts up on handicap debut.

Tip 3 - 3:35 Taunton – Safe Destination

A course-and-distance winner last month, Safe Destination has won three of his last four and finished second in the other to assert himself as a major player in today’s outing. This is a step up to Class 4 for the first time in over two years for the Nigel Twiston-Davies gelding, and he faces a sharp 6lb rise, but the good news is that his rivals are largely untested at this grade as well.

Tip 4 - 4:55 Wolverhampton - Watkins

Watkins has shown precious little in five career starts, beating seven horses in total, and not getting within seven lengths of the winner in any of his races. Better is clearly expected of him, considering he was sent off 5/2 favourite for a decent race at York on debut last season. George Boughey’s horses are in fine form, and the hope is that the drop in distance combined with first-time headgear brings about some improvement in what looks a very weak race.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch.
