Tip 1 - 2:25 Newbury - Glamorous Breeze
A pair of Class 4 victories earlier this year prompted Glamorous Breeze to be vaulted up to Class 2 affairs but she drops down a grade today. Both of those Class 2 runs ended in a fifth-place finish but she was only a length behind the winner in one of them, so moving down to Class 3 and gaining an extra 1lb from the handicapper should allow her to compete again here.

Tip 2 - 3:00 Newbury - Lou Lou’s Gift
Lou Lou’s Gift should find this a lot easier than her two assignments so far this season. A listed race at Chelmsford and a Group 3 at Ascot were beyond her, but this step back into handicap company should suit. She signed off last season with an easy win at Newmarket before going close in a higher grade handicap back at that same track, so there’s definitely lots of ability there. Back in calmer waters, she’s fancied to run a big race.

Tip 3 - 3:35 Newbury - Witness Stand
Collective Power has had a torrid time on turf since winning over course and distance here back in April, proving that he generally fares much better on all-weather. His victory here four months ago was his third career C&D win, and he’s also picked up seven such seconds. A mark of 79 should be nothing to worry about as his most recent win came at 3lbs higher.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
