Tip 1 - 1:50 York – Bowmark
A winner on his turf debut in a Class 2 race at York in May, Bowmark has work to do to back that up after a poor run in the Group 1 Prix du Jockey Club last time out but has an excellent chance here. The three-year-old has three runs over 1m – winning twice and coming second by a neck in the other – and he will be a danger if he can find that extra furlong.

Tip 2 - 2:05 Goodwood - Mudbir
There is plenty to like about Mudbir’s three-year-old campaign, and there could well be more to come. Three wins from four since May, with the latest earlier this month coming in a similar standard race to Saturday. Out of multiple Group 1 winner Kingman and Listed winner Handassa, you have to think this is another summer tuneup before bigger and better things. With an entry in the Cambridgeshire in September, a good performance will slash his antepost odds in that one.

Tip 3 - 3.35 York – Mr Percy e/w
Mr Percy has been making solid progress on the flat, picking up a valuable handicap at the Currah last time he raced without needing to leave the ground. He always looks like he enjoys a stamina test and is doing his best work at the finish in races, that style could suit him perfectly with the long finishing straight at York giving him plenty of time to make a late run.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
