Tip 1 - 2:40 Brighton – River Wharfe

A course-and-distance winner last year and also victorious over 1m here in May, River Wharfe hasn’t really backed the latter up since with a pair of fourths, but he was in touch with the leaders both times and finished inside 2.5 lengths back both times. Further good news is that his handicap remains the same for the third race in a row, and so now he may be used to the assignment facing him.

Tip 2 - 3:00 Musselburgh - Castle Stuart

It may be best to focus on the two 3yo’s in this race, given the weight allowance afforded to them. The Trickster has run three solid races this year without looking particularly well-treated. Preference is for Castle Stuart. He looked as though a step up in trip would be beneficial after his seasonal debut, and there could be plenty of wiggle room in his mark, as a son of Dubawi.

Tip 3 - 3:10 Brighton - Desert Beauty

The top three in the betting fought out a great finish in their last race, all finishing in a heap on the line. However, this time Desert Beauty is in receipt of 6lb from the winner, and as they finished so closely last time it could make all the difference. Desert Beauty wondered a bit late on in that race, so the choice to add blinkers looks a smart one.

Tip 4 - 3:40 Brighton - Uncle Dick

A lot can be made of the records of a horse at certain courses, but today that’s for good reason with Uncle Dick. The seven-year-old has raced over course and distance nine times and has won an incredible seven times. Which equates to all of his career victories on turf. He won this race last year and then triumphed over course and distance a month later from a mark of 71 and is today three pounds well in. He should go close.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
