Tip 1 - 2:15 Beverley - Commander Of Life

After a couple of near misses in the last month, it could finally be time for Commander Of Life to shine on turf. The four-year-old was almost exclusively an all-weather runner until April when he finished a respectable fourth at Wetherby, which was then followed up by two seconds and another attempt at 7.5f might just be the key.

Tip 2 - 2:30 Brighton - Neptune Legend

This looks like a very weak race with many of these boasting poor win rates over their careers, and some of them still failing to find the winner’s enclosure. We will side with Neptune Legend who could make some progress from his recent runs back from a wind-op. Connections have also refitted some headgear, so perhaps a big run is expected today.

Tip 3 - 3:00 Brighton - Local Boy

Crimson Spirit is favourite for a reason, but carrying 10 stone and off a career-high mark, we think it could be worth taking on the odds-on shot. Local Boy has won here three times and not finished outside the top two in the last four visits. Won a course-and-distance 0-80 race here last year from a mark of 70, so today’s mark of 65 looks very appealing in the same standard. Tom Marquand taking the ride suggests confidence from the trainer, and a full stone lighter than the favourite gives this seven-year-old a great chance.

Tip 4 - 3:30 Brighton - Correspondence

Harry Eustace has his yard in tremendous form. He sent four runners to Royal Ascot last week, landing two Group 1s and hitting the frame in two major handicaps. Correspondence has a long way to go to reach that level, but his debut form was boosted, thanks to the winner going on to be third in a Group 3 at Ascot. Kinwoman is a strong favourite, but Correspondence should have bundles of improvement to come, and is the fancy.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
