Tip 1 - 3:28 Newton Abbot - Puddlesinthepark

Puddlesinthepark could scarcely be in better form as he tackles hurdles for the first time in over two years after completing a chase hat trick at Cartmel in July. Tip 2 - 3:40 Catterick - Gennadius

Gennadius has tried a range of trips on various ground but has failed to get his head in front in 10 starts. He has placed in eight of those starts, so there’s a certain level of ability there, but he’s not exactly progressive. Running to the same level might be enough in this. Tip 3 - 3:58 Newton Abbot - Inside Man

Unexposed as a handicapper, Inside Man could be the answer in a competitive looking contest. He ran out a comfortable winner last time out giving weight away all round and probably got away with the 3lb rise he was handed. What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
