Tip 1 - 2:05 Sandown – Tribal Chief

A strong end to 2024 for Tribal Chief saw him record three wins in a row and force people to acknowledge him, before following that up this year with a second at Newmarket at this grade. A poor outing in France last month appears to be an outlier as this four-year-old has never run that badly, and the race today represents a fantastic chance to pick up a fifth career victory in just 13 runs.

Tip 2 - 2:10 Chester - Moonstone Boy

Picking the inside traps in sprints at Chester is a tried and tested method at the course given the sharp left-hander facing the horses before the home straight. Preference goes to Moonstone Boy, who has started the season in good form with a second by a neck on reappearance and then a win last time out. Carrying plenty of weight, but regular rider Mohammed Tabti takes off five valuable pounds, and he should be there or therabouts.

Tip 3 - 3.20 Chester - Milford

After being stepped up in trip last time out Milford put in what was a career best performance, and was unlucky to be caught late on. He wasn’t stopping that day, it just looked like he ran into two well handicapped types, so he could put up a bold bid to win his first race in handicap company. He is keen going, so stall 5 should suit him and might enable him to bag the all important inside rail at Chester.

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
