Tip 1 - 1:45 Dundalk - Silkie Sevei
At a glance, this race looks at the mercy of the top two in the betting, but it could be worth taking a punt on Silkie Sevei improving from her Fairyhouse debut in June. She went off at 50/1 that day and probably exceeded expectations, running on late to finish in midfield. The winner of that race has gone on to win at listed level, and with trainer Paul Flynn’s horses in cracking form of late, she might just be overpriced.

Tip 2 - 2:05 Epsom - Sweet Lord
This looks an open race between horses still very green, and it is the hope that Sweet Lord comes on from July’s Leicester attempt, his first race after being gelded. He looked like he needed some geeing up at the start, which always left him behind the eight ball. Has first time tongue-tie and blinkers today, which could make a big difference. Ralph Beckett is in top form, with four winners from his last seven to post, with today’s jockey Rossa Ryan on board for two of those.

Tip 3 - 2:20 Dundalk - Collective Power
Collective Power has had a torrid time on turf since winning over course and distance here back in April, proving that he generally fares much better on all-weather. His victory here four months ago was his third career C&D win, and he’s also picked up seven such seconds. A mark of 79 should be nothing to worry about as his most recent win came at 3lbs higher.

Tip 4 - 3:05 Newbury - Penhallam
Penhallam got off the mark in fine style over course and distance last month, keeping on well to score in very similar conditions. Was probably thrown in at the deep end last time out in quite a valuable handicap, so being dropped 1lb before lowering his sights to this race could end up working in his favour.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
