Tip 1 - 2:05 Southwell - Cloudy Wednesday

Cloudy Wednesday has impressed this season after almost a year off, recording two seconds and a third, and a step up in trip may be exactly what he needs. He’s a two-time winner over 3m, including one last year when he romped home by 11 lengths at this grade, and good ground is always the preference of this nine-year-old so he has every chance of going well here.

Tip 2 - 2:25 Newmarket - Green Storm

With by far the best form in the book we will go with Green Storm to pick up where he left off last year. He improved with every run last season and almost managed to bag a Group 1 in France on ground he wouldn't have enjoyed. If he runs his race today it is going to be a big ask of those in opposition to improve past him.

Tip 3 - 3:00 Newmarket - First Conquest

Stablemate Ottoman Fleet has won this race the last two years on slightly higher marks than today’s 110. However, we’re hoping there’s enough improvement for First Conquest in his four-year-old campaign that he could be there or thereabouts. Two from three at this track and enjoyed Group 3 success at Meydan in January. Potentially good to soft ground at the off is the question mark about a horse that appears to be going places.

Tip 4 - 3:35 Newmarket - Verse Of Love

Verse Of Love currently sits fourth in the 1,000 Guineas betting, on the back of a mightily impressive maiden win here in October. She looked very inexperienced that day, and still stormed clear to win by five lengths. This race is full of horses with the potential to improve in a big way, but none more so than Charlie Appleby’s filly, who has already shown herself to be well above average.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
