Tip 1 - 2:28 Downpatrick - Sophia Rose
To say this doesn’t look like a strong race would be an understatement. That said, there was real promise in Sophia Rose’s hurdling debut at Listowel last month. Despite a couple of scrappy jumps and getting outpaced turning out of the back straight, she ran on late to finish fifth. That form is nothing special, but she showed enough to suggest there’s more to come, with today’s step up in trip looking likely to suit.

Tip 2 - 2:50 Newton Abbott - Jet Of Dreams
Paul Nicholls’ Centara has been mightily impressive in his past two races but is now contending with a 15-pound rise from both in the last three months. He may be good enough to contend with that, but we’re willing to wager that the consistent Jet Of Dreams could overhaul him. Not finished outside the top three in last 11 races, and jockey James Bowen has won four of his last nine to post. He could just keep his nose in front.

Tip 3 - 3:40 Ayr - Keep Me Stable
On the hunt for a hat trick after back-to-back wins at Musselburgh, Keep Me Stable has enjoyed some remarkable consistency since February with form of 322411. Although she is typically a 7f runner, the first of those recent victories came over 1m, and she is also a previous course-and-distance winner here so even a 4lb rise shouldn’t be too prohibitive especially with regular jockey Tommie Jakes claiming five.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
