Tip 1 - 1:42 Cartmel - Heart Above
Heart Above is a consistent sort who should enjoy the trip back down to 2m1f today. Finished outside the top four just twice in last 11 races, with one of those looking well placed before running out two from home. Was a close second on only course-and-distance visit prior to this and should give a good account. Favourite Lightening Company has a very similar recent record but is much shorter, and we think Dianne Sayer’s seven-year-old can outrun decent odds.

Tip 2 - 2:30 Ayr - Flowstate
Although yet to pick up a win since his debut run last summer, Flowstate has shown plenty of encouraging signs this year with form of 434 in a trio of Class 5 outings, the latter two over 6f. The four-year-old has struggled inside the final furlong, but a step down and also a 2lb drop in handicap should make things easier for him today.

Tip 3 - 3:00 Ayr - Clasina
Clasina has a great chance here at the weights to finally get off the mark and gain compensation for last week’s defeat by Spun To Gold. Despite a poor draw, she was still able to get within a length of the winner at the line after putting up a good performance. Spun To Gold carries a 5lb penalty for the win today, and that might be enough to turn the table in her favour.

Tip 4 - 5:10 Windsor - Luminare
Luminare makes the switch to William Haggas after making it second time lucky for Ollie Sangster. She was keen on debut over this trip and settled much better over five furlongs before powering on to win. That could have been the benefit of her first run, and today’s step back up to six furlongs shouldn’t be much of an issue. Main market rival Vlad looks worth opposing, having been turned over at odds of 2/9 last time out.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
