Tip 1 - 2:20 Catterick - Obee Jo
A four-time course-and-distance winner, Obee Jo hasn’t had a vintage 2025 with no finishes higher than fourth but is now down to a career-low mark of just 50 so has a chance of making amends on his favourite track. His last two races have been over 1m and so the drop back down to the preferred 7f should also help him to recapture some form in the twilight of his career.

Tip 2 - 4:30 Leopardstown - Dancing Saxon
Dancing Saxon has clearly been showing something at home, having gone off 11/4 favourite on debut at Leopardstown in June. She moved into a challenging position before fading late to finish a well-beaten 10th. Today’s drop back in trip and better ground should suit Joseph O’Brien’s filly, who’s fancied to put her experience to good use in what looks an ordinary maiden.

Tip 3 - 4:40 Yarmouth - Mc’ted
Hasn’t been in great form in last four races but could see improvement in second race after 116-day break. Looked like he didn’t get a clear run last time out, and this looks to be a pretty dangerous mark for the seven-year-old. All but one of his six career wins have come from a higher mark than today’s 56, including two over today’s course and distance. Alice Bond, his normal jockey, takes off seven pounds, so he could be very well treated to go close.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
