Tip 1 - 2:40 Market Rasen - Sir Galahad
After not making much of an impression on the flat, four-year-old Sir Galahad has been having a real time of things since switching to Olly Murphy's yard and hurdling. The gelding has been beating on opponents with plenty in hand for four wins in a row, and the handicapper may not have caught up yet. This is a step up in class, but the form of two of those victories has been franked by losers winning since, and he could have another day out carrying under 11st.

Tip 2 - 2:57 Newbury - Elite Status
Elite Status has been disappointing this season but has been highly-tried. He didn’t cut much ice in the Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot, finishing 12th of 14, but there’s plenty to suggest we’ll see a better run on Saturday. He won this race last season, and the ease in class back to a Group 3 will make things a little easier for him. Karl Burke reaches for first-time cheekpieces, which could squeeze out a couple of pounds of improvement.

Tip 3 - 3:12 Market Rasen - The Flier Begley
On a hat trick after winning over course-and-distance last month, The Flier Begley has now won three of his last four starts with the opening victory of that streak also being over C&D. There is definitely some concern over the step up to Class 1 for the first time, but he’s shown more than enough at a grade below to justify inclusion here, even with a career-high mark of 137.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
