Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently, that’s why we only use the best analysts and tipsters in the UK and Ireland to give their advice on this page. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose.

Tip 1 - 2:15 Wincanton - Jack Sprat

Jack Sprat is a horse with a modest strike rate over hurdles but does tend to get the job done when conditions suit him. He has been running over more than three miles recently but should cope with the drop back in trip as he has winning form over the shorter distance. He also has a win on good ground to his name, so today’s going won’t inconvenience him either.

Tip 2 - 2:30 Newcastle - Bishop Hill

It’s been over six months since Bishop Hill last ran, but solid form over 2m4f last year should put her in good stead today. The six-year-old recorded figures of 2332F3 in 2024 and has run well over course-and-distance before, so if she feels up to the task after such a long break, there’s little reason why she won’t compete again.

Tip 3 - 3:15 Wincanton - Jackstell

Jackstell is among the more exposed in this maiden hurdle with three hurdles and two point to points under his belt. On hurdle debut finished second to Horaces Pearl who then won convincingly again up in grade against horses rated in the 120s. Last time out was a third to Roaring Conquest, who consequently finished third in Grade 2 company. His form is rock solid, and he could be ready to get a first win over obstacles.

Tip 4 - 4:45 Wincanton - My Rockstar

Recent form is a question mark for most of these runners, while likely favourite Dunstall Rambler has been having success over shorter trips. My Rockstar has run well without looking like winning in two of three starts since tasting success in November. That was his second career win off 74, with the other coming over course and distance. A mark of 81 doesn’t scream ‘well-treated’, but he has a solid chance in a weak race.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
